Law & Order: Special Victims Unit: Persona (2008)
Season 10, Episode 8
8/10
should have SPOILERS listed before readers get too far in.
26 March 2017
Warning: Spoilers
My only problem with the review is that I read it, thankfully after seeing the episode. I was amazed at how many plot points were included. I would have also have mentioned the excellent jobs done by supporting cast members, Mike Farrell, and the almost missed appearance of Didi Conn.

I Do, I Do, I Do (2015 TV Movie)
3/10
no do-overs here
27 September 2015
Warning: Spoilers
POSSIBLE SPOILERS sorry, folks. this is one hallmark movie that I will not watch repeatedly as I have most of the others I have seen. make that ALL of the others I have seen. it did not take very long to think, oh no, this is just groundhog day set to a romantic theme, even using valentine's day as part of the story. add one overbearing mother-in-law to be who insists on HER idea of a perfect day. along with her color scheme, her dress, and fortunately her other son. in very short succession after one repeat day, you can see the proper marriage take place. You can see the ending long before the fourth deja vu. I had hopes for this movie, as my connection with hallmark movies has been very successful.

Bones: The Witch in the Wardrobe (2010)
Season 5, Episode 20
10/10
love the men in the jail/definitely SPOILERS!
14 July 2015
Warning: Spoilers
I am watching the Witch in the Wardrobe for at least the 5th time.as time moves on I remember why this episode is so memorable. great actors, great characters, a wonderful twist in the plot line. I have rediscovered two actors I will search on IMDb so I can catch them in reruns of other series. William Stanford Davis and Wade Williams are standouts. as the barber/judge, Davis is too perfect for his character not to be repeated in another episode. Williams as the sheriff is priceless, especially throwing the confetti while trying to maintain his official persona. I don't think a thing needs to be changed or augmented. My one not met expectation was that in this brain trust, not one person denied the existence of witches. This season will be my next CD purchase

Ghost Whisperer: The One (2006)
Season 1, Episode 22
10/10
many spoilers
3 July 2015
Warning: Spoilers
I have loved and re-watched every episode of Ghost Whisperer, but I am glad I knew the climax of this episode before reading previous reviews. I was totally shocked that I had not realized we were watching Andrea's ghost, even when her brother walked past her, seemingly ignoring his beloved sister. several reviews remarked as to this surprise element of the story. yes, we will sorely miss Ms. Tyler's character, but I applaud the writers/directors/actors, for giving us this bit of theater genius. how many times did Dondre Whitfield have to make that very close walk before someone shouted CUT. that scene alone deserved a special award, perhaps one created for an actor's skill in close calls.

Second Chances (2013 TV Movie)

even if you don't like cute kids in movies, try this one!
6 June 2015
Warning: Spoilers
POSSIBLE spoiler. I first read the blurb, decided not to watch it being off cute kid movies, but in an otherwise dull evening I DID watch it and found the two children drew me in. I have looked at schedules ever since, so that my husband, also off cute kid movies, will have a chance to enjoy this very Hallmark story. Hooray for the writers who finally used cute kids in a very positive, inventive manner. I encourage other writers to be as creative with children's roles as those who put this brother and sister to work. I look forward to seeing these young performers in other productions. and thanks to casting for a great role for Greg Vaughn, the age of my daughter, but never too old to look!

happy to report my hubby enjoyed the movie almost as much as I did, notwithstanding the importance of the two cute kids, which neither of us found too precocious, in fact I will happily watch it for the 4th time if schedules permit.

A Season for Miracles (1999 TV Movie)

request change in preview of movie
6 January 2015
Warning: Spoilers
POSSIBLE SPOILER In the short preview of the movie, the children are referred to as "wayward". I have asked before that this be change to "neglected". It is the adult who has messed up their lives, the children are innocent victims. Perhaps I just don't know where to ask for this change to be made, or maybe when the brief synopsis is complete, no changes are allowed. Anyone who has seen this movie as many times as I have, at least 10, knows that these children are anything but wayward. I am a grandmother and retired teacher who knows "wayward" when it sits in her class. I would love to have had these two anytime during my 31 years at "the front of the class". Another movie I highly recommend

superior for kids and adults
25 December 2014
A quiz program which shows students that learning can be fun and that even young students can frequently out score adults, As a grandmother and retired teacher, I enjoyed playing along and was constantly impressed by the knowledge the young panelists exhibited. Many of us oldsters would love to see this program brought back to life. There are not enough opportunities for children to see that learning in many different categories is worthwhile. At the same time, those of us out of school for many years need to be introduced to more up to date material - also in many categories. learning should never stop, regardless of age.

once more MAYBE, possible spoilers
13 October 2014
I am not impressed with Tom Cruise as an actor, but this is one movie I MIGHT watch again, due to the seriously gifted cast, including Miss Tripplehorn. there is enough tension in the plot to show what could happen in a thoroughly immoral, power hungry business. I can truthfully say that virtually everything I know of Memphis, aside from the home of Elvis, I learned from this film. My thanks to those in charge of such details. Everything, I know of Memphis, aside from Graceland, I learned from this film .Again My thanks to those in charge of such details. Many of us will never be able to travel to all the places we would love to see.I have noted this fact in previous reviews. Please give us more location details. It is our armchair tour guide.

The Town Christmas Forgot (2010 TV Movie)

love the kid, possible spoiler
12 July 2014
I hope to see more of azer, how do you pronounce his entire name, by the way. I know young men hate to be called precious, but that's exactly what he is. I'm a southern grandma, so I'm allowed.

and yes, I saw every episode of NCIS with his mom, ms. holly, and will watch her again, if cable gives me the chance. thank you for letting talent run in the family!

I also fell absolutely in love with the father, and will search IMDb for more chances to see his work. I'm betting I've been married longer than he's been alive, or at least close. 48 years, mr. Roberts? or you look young for your age, and thanks for an unexpected ending.

POSSIBLE SPOILER - this review should follow that of bigsword in order to make sense

A young Amish woman tries to meet her birth mother, but is beaten to the meeting by an imposter

there is no excuse, much less reason, to denigrate the movie by further lowering yourself by the outrageous referral to down syndrome - how 19th century of you. the movie is enjoyable and many of us with various handicaps actually NEED a calm, well told, beautifully set story. the actors and actresses - yes, I prefer the difference - did an excellent job of presenting their characters, having spent time in Missouri's Mennonite country, I appreciate the effort it takes to become "bilingual" as it were. I would appreciate knowing the location of the beautiful home used as the family mansion. I have been to Canandegua, but remember nothing so grand, wonderful people and my only view of the Erie Canal. Why did the credits only reference North Carolina. a word to those responsible for the credits. there are many of us who must rely on your thoroughness as a bedside tour guide. and for those wondering, my problems include doing all my typing with one finger. do not impair my ability to enjoy a good story.
