Regarding Henry (1991)

One of the MOST under-rated movies of all time.

Harrison Ford does a remarkable job with Henry Turner. The depths of his despair are at times just a subtle reminder that we only live once. Not many actors could pull off the role the way that Mr. Ford did. Only a performance as bold, yet subdued, could have achieved what it did. The technical work was astonishing as we go from the darkness of the beginning to the incredible ending. I liked the many and variegated background characters and the way in which they all had something important to add to the storyline. I would recommend this film to anyone as it contains elements that will appeal to anyone, though, in my humble opinion, the greatest element in this movie is the love story.

The Other Sister (1999)

NOT a missed opportunity

Well, Lil'Girl of Brisbane, Australia has obviously not ever met someone with a mental handicap of this nature, as is apparent in her comments about Carla being a "spoilt child throwing tantrums". Giovanni Ribisi and Juliette Lewis did a MARVELOUS job portraying their characters. And as someone who has been around the mentally disabled, I can assure you that the problems portrayed and the characters were very well done indeed.

But, all that aside, this is one of the best movies of it's kind I've ever seen. The characters are real, the plot is intriguing (to say the least), and the emotional roller-coaster is done such that we, as an audience, can truly understand what it is the characters are feeling (well, most of us anyway, see ¶1). The minor characters perfectly compliment the main characters and the flaws portrayed make them that much better. All in all it is a wonderful movie that should be seen by everyone at least once.

The Emperor's New Groove (2000)

I'm 33 and I still loved this movie!

I have an extremely eclectic taste in movies and I can't get enough of the interaction between David Spade and John Goodman. The inside jokes are hilarious (I won't actually mention any, but if you watch closely there are dozens), the sight gags are very original, and the plot was so interesting that I had to watch it several times to catch everything.

The only thing that was disappointing was the length (and this is a very minor concern all told anyway). I would have liked a good fifteen minutes or so added on, but C'est la vie!

I would say that aside from Toy Story and Toy Story 2, this is my favorite feature length cartoon of all time.

Anyway, it is a movie that anyone can enjoy, no matter their age and I would recommend it be a part of everyone's collection, even if they don't normally go for cartoons.

Fail Safe (2000 TV Movie)

Live action is NOT a thing of the past anymore.

I never thought I'd get into a live action drama like this, but I thought it was INCREDIBLE. The actors were superb and the storyline was gorgeously done. I was surprised that they were making live episodes of television shows, I didn't think anyone would be able to pull off a live 2-hour movie, but they did, and if it isn't nominated for several emmys, it will be a major crime.

Kudos to the whole cast and crew for the most amazing movie in a VERY long time.
