Summer of Fear (1996)
Not the Lois Duncan book
The Lois Duncan book was actually made into a 1978 (I think) movie, starring Linda Blair - this isn't it. I believe that movie was originally called Stranger In My House. The premise and people aren't even the same. This movie was completely predictable, right from the very beginning. I had the entire "twist" figured out within about a half hour into the movie. It was in Lifetime Movie Network, and I had TiVo-ed it, not really expecting to get anything out of the movie - and I didn't. It was a fluff piece...a way to waste time. It's always kinda funny to see Corin "Corky" Nemec as a complete psychopath. However, David Gallagher, who plays the son in the movie, has dark, almost black hair. Such a sharp contrast from his 7th Heaven role. Also, Corky Nemec's name in this movie is Simon. How weird that David Gallagher ended up playing a Simon later heh
Scooby-Doo (2002)
Ok, color me 5-years-old
I adore Scooby and I adored this movie...what can I say? I'm 25-years-old and yet I'm so taken by the concept of Scooby Doo. I mean, I've been ready for this movie for a long time. Sarah Michelle Gellar was excellent as Daphne...it was so strange seeing SMG as someone nearly defenseless. While Freddie Prinze Jr. is just in no way Fred, Linda Cardellini was a great Velma. They really proved the characters old-school style, keeping them as close to the old cartoon as possible. Which brings me to Matthew Lilliard. Could they have picked a better Shaggy? It's like the role was completely made for him! I give the movie 10 Scooby Snacks
Final Destination (2000)
WOW!
My heart literally stopped a few times during this movie. Lots of action and suspense...and BOY was it intense! My sister and I were chewing on our nails waiting for the next person to bite the dust. The cast is likeable, and very well put together. I highly recommend this movie for anyone who loves being scared out of their wits!
