Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron (2002)
Very Enjoyable
I very much enjoyed this movie. I am a thirty-something with no kids, but I very much enjoyed this animated western love story. It had something for everyone: suspense, action, romance, and of course, great music. I've always liked Bryan Adams and these songs were right on target with his style of music. The expressions these animals showed through their facial features and gestures were very humanistic and you could relate to what they were feeling. This has to be one of the better movies I have seen this year! And one of the few summer movies I have been anticipating seeing.
Man of Her Dreams (1997)
This film is underrated.
This film was very good with much suspense through out. I do not understand why the movie has a 5.2 user rating. It was very entertaining and kept me at the edge of my seat. I saw this on the cable network, FX and for a Cable TV movie. this movie was better than most. It kept my attention and since I watched it late at night while laying on the couch at times and that I did not fall asleep that is quite an accomplishment. Although it is predictable and not quite in the same league as "What Lies Beneath", I would definitely recommend this movie to my friends and family.
Titanic Town (1998)
Boring!
This movie was very hard to follow. The Irish brougues (sp?) did not help; maybe it was the fact that I know nothing of the Northern Irish Conflict, other than it's between the Catholics and Protestants. Being of Eastern European descent, I have no knowledge of it. Last few months, I thought I'd widen my horizons and see an occasional independent/fine arts/foreign film, but every movie I've seen I did not care for. Will try again with The Yards and eventually Mansfield Park, when it comes to video, but if I don't care for those I'll stick with the Hollywood-released films.
