Die, Mommie, Die! (2003)
Campy and very funny
I just saw this film this morning at Sundance. Die Mommie Die! is a hilarious movie! I went to see it because I like Natasha Lyonne and Philip Baker Hall, but I ended up most impressed by Charles Busch (who also wrote the film) and Stark Sands (as "c*cksucker" Lance).
The film is full of unforgettable one-liners and campy style, and I enjoyed the hell out of it.
Judy Berlin (1999)
boring
This is an excruciatingly dull, slow movie. Amateur night all the way. Just another boring movie about boring people doing boring things. But here's the twist: it all happens during an eclipse! Still boring, though. Now it just looks poorly shot, as well.
Mission: Impossible II (2000)
my first taste of woo
wow. i thought that this would be just another cheesey action movie. oh yeah, it was. but it was also well-done and exciting. i thought it would pale next to de palma's M:I, but, as much as i love de palma, this one is the superior M:I. i hope they continue the tradition of hiring big-time action directors for this series. love that slo-mo!
