Skyfall (2012)
The music and the much beloved DB5
8 May 2018
A quick note for the car lovers. Please note the car is spelt Aston Martin and not Astin or Austin-thank you.

The times and Bond may have moved on, but this was a really weak film. No wit, no humour, no charm, no fun and the action scenes don't conjure up much suspense or excitement. Why did spending $200 million the end result came out so lame andfairly boring. If there was a sanistised and political corrected film , this was it.

Two questions: 1) Was it intentional to have such a p8ss poor orchestral score with no sense of anticipation, depth, suspense or meaning? Part of watching any Bond film IS to have these dramatic musical injections into a scene.

2) Was blowing up the DB5 really neccessary or was it to sybolically and finally kill off any connections with the 'old' style Bond. Regardless of how the films have developed over the years that iconic car should have remained. Ever since being a boy and watching Goldfinger at the Cinema that DB5 stood out as THE Bond car. They have all but killed off any future Bond film that comes out thereafter. Enough said.

The Hike (I) (2011)
2/10
Less thrilling than a Merry-go-round.
6 November 2017
After about forty minutes of total boredom and nothing gripping or any thing mildly interesting going on,both my wife and myself concluded that this must have be an extended episode of 'Hollyoaks'.

Everything about the film was poor, the plot, the script, the dialogue, the wooden and truly unconvincing acting. Even if you swapped those women for the Spice Girls an episode of Thunderbirds would have been more gripping, captivating and attention grabbing than this film. Literally it should have taken a 'hike'.

Please, do not make another follow up

Simply awful.

After a 34 painful minutes both my wife and I looked at each other and agreed that enough was enough. For us, Charlie Day's prepubescent squawking was the movie buster. No man, even with a beard should sound like that-ever.

I'm sure there is an audience for this type of film and it appears to have made a lot of money, but each set piece was far worse than the last. The three original Three Stooges would have been cringing at this pile of poo. Even the American Pie series came across as positively 'Shakesperean'.

It would be better all round if these actors went their separate ways and considered it best 'a place not to re-visit ever again'. I sincerely hope the makers do not think of making another sequel or even worse still...........a prequel.

13 Sins (2014)

Neither Lame or Good
19 September 2017
In summary, this film is not much different than an extended episode of the 'Twilight Zone' with a bit more gore thrown in for good measure. The only real annoyance was the irritating voice of the controller behind the machinations and the fact you couldn't really make out what was being displayed on Elliot's phone.

The film pulls you along albeit gently, that said, in the end this sort of sits between predictable and entertaining hence the 6/10 rating. Ron Pearlman must have needed the money to pay his taxes-what a waste.

Episode listing
12 June 2000
Does any one out there have a complete episode listing for this show?

Here in the UK, Channel 4 have started to show this rather late at night and I've probably missed a few. The first one I've seen is 'The last drop'. Even though the acting is a bit wooden/stilted and a little hammy at times and some of the scenes are laughable: Helicopter pilot gets shot in shoulder, chopper wobbles around a bit, pilot doesn't seem fazed at all that a bullet has gone through his torso, and then lands the helo in exactly same spot from take off. Still, its watchable. thanks.
