The Truth About Charlie (2002)

This is not Charade!

These 2 movies were "BASED" on the same story. Separated by 4 decades, they were never meant to be the same identical movies. Why would you even want 2 movies to be identical? We already have "Charade"...now we have "The Truth About Charlie". I'm sorry, I personally get annoyed when people expect one movie to be the same as another. I watch movies as an escape from reality and entertainment. If you're looking for reality, then watch the news or documentaries or reality shows.

This movie stands on its own. This is not an academy award winner, but then I'm sure it was not expected to be. There are some good action scenes, and I personally liked the way the characters fumbled with one another. They are from 2 different continents, cultures and backgrounds.

Remember, this is not "Charade" and it does not star Cary Grant and Audrey Hepburn. If that's what you want to see, then by all means, watch "Charade", otherwise, quit expecting anything when you go watch a movie and just watch it for itself.

Just so you have all the facts, I tend to rate movies high (from 7 to 10). I gave this one a 7 only because of the somewhat disconnected way it arrived at the ending. Thanks.

Pearl Harbor (2001)

Entertainment at its best!!!

Mine is short:

I don't get what critics and many of the reviewers here want from a movie. The acting was great, the special effects were spectacular, the plot, and the twists, were excellent. Three hours is not too long when you're entertained from the beginning to the end. To date, the best film of 2001.

One final word: If you don't go to the movies to be entertained and you expect every detail to be factual or the way you would have written, produced and directed it, then watch the history channel or PBS.

Unbreakable (2000)

Broken

Two quick things.

1. I do not judge one movie by the success (or lack) of another. Too many people base their opinion of one movie on the merit of another.

2. I almost fell asleep waiting for the plot to take off. The concept is excellent. The twist ending did not surprise me, but was pretty good and leaves a lot of room for a great sequel. Getting to the action and the ending took about 1 hour to long to happen. Just as it started to happen...it ended.
