The Exorcist (1973)
my fave film.....EVER
I love this film to bits, the acting, the script, everything is superb. Opinion is divided between my friends, some say it is not shocking at all, but the scene with the crucifix is quite disturbing even today. I can't really see why it affected people so much when it was released, but i still love watching this film, and while it does not live up to the hype {but what does}, it is still the greatest film ever made............10/10
The Avengers (1998)
Awful, saved by one thing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This has to be one of the worst films i have ever had the misfortune of seeing........APART from one thing, which is the superb cameo performance from rock legend SHAUN RYDER of happy mondays/black grape fame, he is fantastic so its 1/10 for the film, but 9/10 for shaun the superstar!!!!!!
Army of Darkness (1992)
Good fun, but not enough horror!
I agree that this film is good entertaining fun, but i would have preferred the film to have been an 18 certificate, and shown some more gory bits like if the first evil dead, but it is still very enjoyable! 7/10
Zombi 2 (1979)
Great.....for its time
I recently watched this film and noticed how much of it has been lost over time....it looks pretty awful now.....i have just purchased the uncut dvd, but it doesn't help the film really......five years ago i may have given it 8/10, but now sadly its 5/10
The Blair Witch Project (1999)
UTTER TRIPE!
I'm sorry, but, plain and simply, this is just not scary at all, in fact i couldn't believe the hype surrounding this junk.......i could have made better with my video camera, and my two dogs on the local westwood......all these people who say you only get out what you took into the film with you......RUBBISH...i like to be entertained, not bored.... 1/10
Rough Draft (1998)
THE WORST FILM EVER MADE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
My girlfriend and i decided to rent this film on DVD one night, the cover catching my eye, especially as it namechecks the excellent 'seven'......Imagine then my horror as we watched the most dreadful, poorly acted, cheesy film ever made unfold before our eyes. My girlfriend instantly fell in love with the appalling acting of MR GARY BUSEY, who has now become a cult figure in our homes. The acting in this film really is second to none, BUSEY being the main culprit, for example the moment were the idiot looks lovingly across the street at his girlfriend, with a big cheesy grin on his face, and the way he reacts to a serial killer as if his granny had popped round for tea. There are also blatant errors in the film, like the fake plastic bottle, AND most unforgivingly the moment were Stefan (vosloo) hits Nelson (busey) with a dummies arm, and once he is knocked on the floor Busey is replaced by a stand in, WITH A TERRIBLE BLONDE WIG ON, it is so obviously not busey, why did they need a stand in for him laying on the floor? and also the is a busey stand in running through the crowd moments earlier......other highlights include.........Busey's reaction when he hears stefan on the phone (priceless).......Busey's silly giggle at the end......when busey dresses as a woman to get past the cops, and the realize its him, so they get in the car and drive off in the opposite direction instead of running round the corner to get him.......My girlfriend and i went and bought the film on DVD and now watch it a couple of times a week......dreadful film but its so bad you gotta get it....LONG LIVE GARY BUSEY
Manhunter (1986)
Superb Film, vastly overlooked!
I have to say that i find this film much more interesting than its sequel, this film being a lot more psychological, and not aimed at a mainstream audience. The entire cast is superb, epsecially tom noonan. My friends think this is rubbish compared to silence of the lambs but this is more my sort of film, simple as that 9/10
