Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith (2005)
Inform the troops, Lord Vader has arrived
I saw it yesterday with my Dad. it's like a tradition since 1983 when, as an 8year old, i saw Return of the Jedi with him in the movie theaters.
With every new episode, and re-release of the original trilogy we went together.
yesterday we were both there. May 18th. 8.00PM (CET)
I won't say anything about the story, but i will say it ties almost perfectly with the original trilogy.
I will go and see this movie at least 2 other times in the theaters.
This movie is the Best of the prequel trilogy. No doubt about that!!
Go and see it, if you haven't done so already!!
Wing Commander (1999)
It could have been so good.......
I dont usually think a movie is bad, i always find a few things to make it at least watchable, but with this movie........
I'm a big fan of the Computer Games this movie is based on, and i eagerly anticipated this one.
The first dissapointment was with the actors. Not that i think they are bad actors, but why not get the same actors as in the game? Mark Hamill, Thomas F Wilson, John Rhys-Davies?
They performed great in the games, they would have done the same in the movie.
Then the story. What's it all about? There is none. While the storyline in both part 3, hearth of the tiger and part 4, the price of freedom had everything. even romance.
The creators should have looked at Space above and beyond. That's a great series, and Wing Commander could have been the same!
Fallout 2: A Post-Nuclear Role-Playing Game (1998)
The Ultimate RPG
How many times have i played and finished this game?
I have no idea! I bought this game when it came out. I had never played the first part but this game got so many good reviews, i had to see it for myself. Life has never been the same again.
This game really is the Ultimate RPG game. You can do almost anything you want.
-Be a good guy -Be a bad guy -Become a price fighter -Buy/Sell Slaves -Go visit a Prostitute, or star in an adult movie -Get a car and cruise the wastelands
And many more things. You get lots of different skills which you can apply to your character. Do you want to specialize in Big guns or small Firearms? Do you prefer sharp weapons like knifes or spears? Or do you specialize in using your fists in battles. I always go for the last one.
There's nothing like the satisfaction you get when you take on a
heavily armed opponent and win. I usually aim for people weak spots. The eyes (so they can't see anymore), the arms (so they cant use their weapons) or their legs (a crippled opponent can't run fast.
If you like you can also try to recruit people. Ofcourse your charisma and other skills have to be right for that, but once you get your own party together, you can really go on a killing spree.
The party-members are very diverse too. You can choose to pick only human-like characters (humans, ghouls, mutants) but i prefer to have a party with animals around me. One vicious dog and 2 robot ones. I also try to get Gorus with me, he's a deathclaw, one of the many species in the game.
Ofcourse it takes a lot of time to get to the point in which you are able to do all the things i mentioned. But it's never boring.
Once you start the game, it grabs you.....and never lets go.
I'm gonna start again this weekend!
The Haunted (1991)
Scarier than i thought!
I've first seen this film about 6 years ago and since then saw it again 2 times, but i still think this movie is pretty frightening. And that from somebody who's goal in life is to see all the Horror movies ever made, LOL
I didnt like the ending though, with a mass-prayer!
Ringu (1998)
This Movie gave me the Chills.
The movie starts very good, 2 teenage girls are talking about the recent death's of 4 of kids from their school. Rumour is they watched a small movie and got a weird phonecall after that. All 4 died exactly one week after watching the movie.
One of the girls confesses she watched the same movie a day later, but both girls just make fun of it. Suddenly the phone rings....
the 2 become very scared, but decide to pick up the phone anyway. It's the mother of one of the girls. Relieved they split up, one of the girls goes to the Bathroom, and the other is getting something to eat. Suddenly the TV turns on. The girl sees the same images she saw a week earlier. She hears something behind her, turns around and.......
The news of the new dead spreads around, a female reporter decides to check it out, and interviews a bunch of kids who tell about the rumor of the movie.
She eventually finds a copy of the movie on tape, and plays it. afterward she also get's the weird phonecall. Becoming very scared she turns to her ex-husband, and gives the tape to him to watch. Ofcourse the same happens to him.
Realizing the danger they are now in, they decide to find out who made the tape, and then the movie really starts!!!
I won't spoil the rest of the movie, but personally i found it very good, never really scary, but it has some creepy scenes, especially towards the end, when the reporter's deadline comes closer and closer.
This movie gave me the Chills!!!
on a scale of 1-10 i'd give it a 9.
I would have given it a 10 if it contained a few more Shock scenes.
Star Wars: Episode II - Attack of the Clones (2002)
Impressive!!!
I saw this movie the day before the official opening at a special Preview-screening. Although my girlfriend in Utah, saw it even sooner (Shantell, I LOVE YOU!!!!)
It's very Impressive!!!! It's not as good as the Empire Strikes Back though, but it contains enough to watch it over and over again, which i've done already, and will keep on doing untill it leaves the Cinema's.
The love scenes between Anakin and Padme, are exactly what i
expected, seeing Yoda fight count Dooku, was very well done, although a bit short.
The final battle was brilliantly done, all those Clone troopers!!!
All in all, a movie you must see, even if you're not a Star Wars fan like i am............ I can't believe it. JarJar is responsible for creating the Empire!!!!
poor JarJar
Can't Buy Me Love (1987)
Incredible, reminds me a bit of myself...
It has been a long while since i've seen this movie, but i can remember a lot of it.
Actually, it reminds me a bit of myself.
Okay, i didn't pay a girl to be my girlfriend for a month, just to become popular, but i was a bit of a loner, and girlfrienless untill i
was 20.
This movie is a great movie to watch, even if you aren't a teenager anymore.
It has humor for all ages, and i think most people find something they can relate to.
The ending is ofcourse also classic. The two maincharacters actually fall in love, and i assume live happily ever after.
I recently found the true love too (Shantell, I love you!!!) so this scene always makes me smile
10/10
The Scorpion King (2002)
Worthy Prequel to the Mummy Movies!!!
This movie is a worthy prequel to the 2 Mummy Movies.
The Rock plays very convincing for a beginner, and i think he can be the next Arnold Schwarzenegger, if he gets the right parts (like the rumor of him playing Conn, the son of Conan)
This movie is perfect to watch with your girlfriend. (Shantell, I Love You!!!!!!)
there is only one thing which bothers me a small bit.
Why is this movie called the Scorpion King??
As i understand from The Mummy Returns, the rock won't become the Scorpion King untill he makes a pact with Anubis.
I sure hope there will be a sequel, in which you see his complete story. I wouldn't mind if the sequel would become a bit darker than this one.
Otherwise, I can recommend this movie to everyone.
The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring (2001)
Impressive, Most Impressive
I just came back from the cinema, having watched the first part of the Lord of the Rings trilogy, and i must say, it's even better than i thought!
Starting with the history of the ring, this movie grabs you, and won't let go untill the end-credits.
I've read the trilogy (and the Prequel The Hobbit) a few years back, and i must say this movie follows the book perfectly.
Of course the director had to make some adjustments, but the movie never seems illogical, like some part of the also excellent cartoon has.
The characters were also cast very good. From Elijah wood as Frodo, to Gimli played by one of my favorite actors John Rhys-Davies.
The humour is also well placed and never seems forced!
I'll definitely go see this movie a second time this week, and probably a third.
Everyone who likes movies should go see this one, i took my grandmother with me, who hadn't read any of the books, and even she found it a teriffic experience.
I almost can't wait untill christmas 2002 at least we have spiderman, attack of the clones, and maybe Terminator 3 to keep us occupied this year!!
Cannibal Holocaust (1980)
A very extreme, gory, but slightly entertaining movie
After reading and hearing about this movie, i'd tried to locate a copy of it for years. Ofcourse my the regular video-stores didn't have it, and even through the internet it was impossible to get a copy of it.
I finally found a copy though through an online-auction, for a pretty low price, so i immediately bought it, and prepared myself for the Ultimate Horror movie.
After seeing it, i was dissapointed, this movie is not a Horror Movie!!
It's a very realistic documentary!!
I liked the movie, although i absolutely am disgusted about the animal killings in the movie!! Okay, i know it happens everyday in slaughterhouses all over the world, and i love to eat a burger from time to time, but for this movie it's not necessary! It's just plain Cruel!
I loved the scenes at the End though, in which you see the cannibals devouring the film-crew!!!
I can recommend this movie for everyone who likes graphic violence.
I won't see this movie a second time in the near future though!!
Night of the Living Dead (1968)
Still the best of it's kind
I have always been a fan of real Horror Movies, but this one is still my favorite. It's 33 years old now, and still the best zombie movie ever made (including it's 2 excellent sequels). This movie has everything a good zombie movie needs. Non-stop horror! A lot of blood and guts. And ofcourse a Bad Ending. If you haven't seen this one yet, go watch it immediately, you won't regret it!!!
Creepozoids (1987)
Great Cult
An incredible fun/scary horror movie. Most people don't like these sort of movies, but i love it! Ashlyn Gere also stars in this movie, she would become one of the best adult-stars a few years later. If you like simple horror movies, watch this one, you won't regret it!
The Mummy Returns (2001)
Great Sequel
A Great Sequel to the already great first Mummy. Full of action, adventure, humour and even a bit of romance! I can't wait for the next part, with the Scorpion King! If you like Indiana Jones, You'll love this film! Waiting for Indy 4 won't be that bad, if more films like this were made!
