Fantastic Four (2005)
Fantastic Four is Forget it Four, very disappointed with effort, Hollywood disappoints yet again, no wonder movie viewing is down 15%
Here in Melbourne Australia, just finished seeing FFOUR and man was I disappointed. I now realise why they have been spending so much money on advertising as as this movie is truly a disappointment. Managed to watch the whole thing but only because I was boxed in at the 1/3 filled cinema and didn't have anything else to do.
Firstly the movie spent too much time concentrating on the boring no body actors being there boring nobody pre-power characters instead of their considerably more interesting super heroes. Very few big scenes where all the powers where being used 'against the bad guy'. Instead many little and (failed) attempts of humor to demonstrate the various powers in short scenes. Only one or two scenes where all where using their powers to help each other fight the one very lame bad guy.
On that note the 'bad guy' in this movie is shocking, his acting weak and the 'evil factor' borderline a joke. Where is the likes of John Malkovich (in the line of fire) and Gary Oldman (airforce one). Arr them were the good days.
Anyway plot was weak very much building up for Fantastic Four 234 etc This movie was nothing like X-men it didn't carry for the the full 2 hours spending 1 hour and 45 minutes on fluff and only becoming slightly exciting during the other 15 minutes worth of major action scenes. I would be surprised if another came out but knowing Hollywood undoubtedly there will be. I for one will not be seeing it if these guys are still in it.
I say save your money for Christmas as looking at the very poor line up over the next few weeks that will be the next time something will be really worth seeing i.e. KING KONG
Hard Cash (2002)
Awful Awful Awful
I wrote my first review a week ago about the movie called 'Overboard'. I gave it a rather terrible review and I didn't think I would have to rescue other poor viewers from watching a similar movie so soon. I saw this movie and said great Slater and Kilmer together this could be a real good action movie. O how wrong I was!!! What a waste of my time, money and patience. I would have had more fun had I pulled each of my toenails out. I can't say this any simpler, THIS MOVIE IS ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE!!!. Do not torture yourself by watching this movie. The car scenes looked like something out of the 1940's, ooo so many questions why why why??? Why would Slater and Kilmer appear in a movie like this? Why would any of the named actors appear in this movie?? Are they part of Scientology who made them appear similar to John Travolters appearance in Battle Ship Earth? Why would they pay actors I imagine 6 figure salaries and then spend $2 on the special effects? Why did Slater embarrass himself? I have lost considerably respect toward him, and in fact all those who bothered to put the pay check ahead of any even the slightest ounce of quality. I seriously was looking to see if the director would put his name to this piece of crap!!! Shame on you all!!
Going Overboard (1989)
A particularly bad comment about a bad movie
Well, It is a very rare night that I do not finish watching a movie that I set out to watch. This movie is so bad that I could not bring myself to watch all of it. No sane person or more importantly any movie watcher with any taste will even remotely find this movie either likable or watchable. I like many others think Adam Sandler is a great actor at times but inspiration for this movie must have come from deep down in a his bowels rather than his brain. Everything about this movie is bad, from the moment that the viewer sets eyes on it to the moment 30 minutes later that a person is pleading with another family member to put them out of their misery!! If you even think of getting this movie out do the world a favour and donate the cost of the rental to the red cross as you would be going the movie world a true injustice should you support this movie in any form what so ever, o how I wish I had been warned earlier.
