I saw this film many,many years ago when I worked in a movie theatre in Brooklyn, New York. It was a great coming of age film for young women experiencing love, freedom and independence. I sure wish some cable channels would pick up and feature it some time. Like on the "WE"-Women's Entertainment channel. Can't get it on video,I've tried with no result.

This is a great rainy day,cuddle up by the fire,romance movie. The sequel-"Thorn Birds, the Missing Years" is not as good. I love Richard Chamberlain since his Dr. Kildare days, and Rachel Ward is so sexy in a quite sort of way. She made an excellent Meggy Cleary. All the others are great actors/actresses, and have made this movie very vivid and a joy to watch. Get this video into your personal collection and enjoy.
