A Great Epic
15 May 2004
This is an amazing film which kept me gripped from start to finish. I suppose the backlash from the critics was expected, I remember the same thing happening to Gladiator. Critics don't warm to epics made after the 1980's. Well I have little respect for them anyway. This movie is gripping from start to finish and I have the upmost respect for Brad Pitt who gives a powerhouse of a perfomance. A Lot of credit goes out to Wolfgang Peterson. This film is action non stop and exhilarating viewing. The action is breathtaking and I believe the battle scenes top even the Lord of the Rings trilogys. There is also tremendous support from Eric Bana, Peter O'Toole and Sean Bean. Strongest of recommendations.

A poor movie with a few flashes of brilliance.
24 February 2001
Let's face it. Master P is the worst actor in the history of performance. You will never see anything as bad as his stunningly horrific attempts at acting. His awful pick up lines couldn't pick up dog crap, let alone a woman. I got the Hook Up as a film itself is very weak. It tries to be another Friday but fails miserably. The Plot is a joke, and by the time you finish the film, you forget what the film was all about. But Master P has manage to include a few flashes of brilliance. The First being Tiny Lister Jr, who's hilarious expressions and comments, not to mention being a cock eyed motherf***r are sheer comic genius. Then there's the Acting Performance of the millennium by a retard with a disabled sticker on his bike. Worth watching just for his tour de force of a performance. Should have recieved an academy award nomination in my opinion.

WWF Judgment Day (2000 TV Special)

The Rock and Triple-H enhance their reputations in a stunning Iron Man Match.
13 February 2001
The Judgement Day 2000 card from Louisville, Kentucky will always be remembered for that cracking 60 Minute Iron Man Match pitting WWF Champion The Rock against the Challenger Triple-H. Both Rocky and Hunter really enhance their reputations in a stunning contest which even the poorly executed finish involving the returning Undertaker could not dampen. A fantastic contest, and one of the top five WWF matches of 2000. Also on the card Chris Benoit and Chris Jericho show once again why they are two of the best wrestlers in the world. Their Intercontinental Title Match is hard hitting and brutal. The finish as well is a distinct improvement from the one at Backlash. Hopefully politics won't get in the way of these two Canadian Superstars fantastic progress, and hopefully they will rise all the way to the top when the likes of Triple-H, Stone Cold Steve Austin and The Undertaker are all phased out. The rest of the card is well worth watching with only the match involving Shane McMahon and The Big Show being mediocre. This is definitely one for the WWF Library.
