Blue My Mind (2017)
From girl to woman
I perceived this movie to be both baffling and poetic all at once! I interpreted the metamorphosis as going through puberty as a young girl and transcending into a more "complete" woman. The cruel girls at school (which every girl everywhere will have endured at least once). Struggling to fit in at a new school, fighting with the parents and not seeking to care... Going through puberty as a woman was hell on earth for me. This film resonates a similar perception. Confused, angry, body dysmorphia. The unknowing sense of self and where Mia felt in the world, which directed her choices and decisions to promiscuous behaviour, elicit drugs and hard alcohol. Ashamed of who she was and who she was becoming. Scared to speak out to her family or her friends or even admit it to herself. You could see the journey, the pain and suffering she bestowed upon herself and the suffering she inflicted upon herself during the process. It wasn't until the transformation was complete and she returned home did she find peace. Exceptional artist portrayal of a young adolescent entering adulthood.
Aquaman (2018)
Absolutely awesome
Totally loved this movie. I was sceptical.. But with effects, attention to detail and great storyline... Nailed it. The only character I couldn't gel with was black mantra. I believe he would have been perfect in another movie with aquaman. Just felt as though that was an extra storyline this film didn't need.
The Lion King (2019)
Emotional and awesome
Absolutely loved the new version of the LK. Incredible attention to detail throughout and the realness of all the animals thoroughly tugged at my emotions in parts.
It was an awesome couple of hours where my inner child got to relive my favourite childhood movie. Hates off to all that was involved in the making of this specular movie. I couldn't fault it.
Await Further Instructions (2018)
It's good but it's not
Okay, the acting was appalling, there was literally no need for racial hatred. They were portrayed as a stereotypical religious family, man is the head of the house etc..
The story line was extremely vague, in fact it was that vague the actors all turned on each other 😂🙌🏻.
I don't understand how the "government" were able to guess the correct amount of dirty needles to send in, and why they each had the same dose... The needle didn't look as though it penetrated the skin either! Hahaaaa.
The femur: one of the hardest bones in the body to break, yet the woman managed to break it from falling down the stairs and landing on her back. The break was on top of her thigh... 🤔
I'm sorry, but what the freaking hell was all that over use of liquorice for? Poor.. Just a poor film. The only reason I entertained it was because I am very hungover and it was the first film that popped up on Netflix hahaa
