The Night Agent (2023– )

Good show but lots of logic skips

Ok, it was a complicated plot with lots of subplots. The acting was good and action kept coming. BUT .. the lead is FBI. They are not bottom level fight/shooter trained. Most close three cases in 20 years. This guy is beating up Secret Service and trained assassins. By the end she is too! The computer geek becomes a fighter, even kills the lead assassin. Secret Service bad guys just slip next to the President with bombs. And the star beats up 50 guys in 10 episodes. Not gonna talk about the alphabet soup thrown in for no reason. And the evil twin. The funniest is at the end, him picking out the turned Secret Service agents out of a crowd! Hahaha, so ridiculous. It was good, just don't think too much.

Bloodshot (2020)

I love all things superhero. This is fine if you suspend all logical thought and shut down your brain for 90 minutes. It is like watching Lee Majors in "the six million dollar man" when he had one bionic arm but grabbed stuff with both hands and bent it. Even at 12 years old, I was like, "what?" If you don't watch this and laugh at the silliness, you have to rethink your education. Do not recommend. I love all things superhero. Destroyer (2018)

Gritty

Remember "Monster" with Theron? This is that with Kidman. She makes herself look like the walking dead in a two hour, gritty cops gone bad movie. Cop goes undercover too long and too deep and it destroys her. You get to witness it in real time. It isn't pretty. It isn't original. It isn't fun. It isn't a movie I would recommend. I wish I had the 2 hours back. When I am on my deathbed, I will remember this depressing movie and lament the loss of 2 hours of healthy time. In the history of movies this ranks as one of the bottom 25%. Again, would not recommend to anyone. Gritty and sad. Do not watch.

The Dress (2020)

Most depressing movie of year

Wow, I thought "The Whale" was depressing. This is even more so. A movie about a little person who longs to be a normal size woman. She has a depressing job in a depressing town with one friend to her name. Her boss is a jerk like many. She wants a man. Her life is a shampoo, rinse, repeat affair where every day is groundhog day. The director uses grey screen and music to further the sad, dismal, dark story. Would like to recommend this but it is a sad movie about a sad situation in a sad setting with sad music and a sad sad sad. Do not recommend. Do not think anyone should see this. Sad and sad.

Shazam! Fury of the Gods (2023)

Not thr original plus some agenda

Yeah, it is showing on here at least a point behind the original. Why? First of all, agenda junk in first 10 minute's and then a few times throughout the movie. Even a few "minor love is just love" moments. The action gets old and repetitive. There is a laugh or two. An awesome cameo or two. Overall not a bad ride but stumbles in the second act and draws out the final act. We found ourselves checking our watches and discussing dinner plans. There is a hidden scene (as has been discussed on fan pages) so stay for that. Actors do a good job of selling the silliness. Overall it is a good story drowned out by some agenda junk and 90 minutes of green screen. Couldn't sit through it again.

Operation Fortune: Ruse de Guerre (2023)

Great effort, fun action

Without the 1000 F-bombs, it would have been 8 stars. Great movie full of action and fun. Reminded us of a James Bond film but with so many cuss words people were walking out. Wish I had not taken my Mom. Not sure why they felt the need to force the R-rating. Otherwise, it was a solid PG13 and would have greatly increased their audience. Ran against a handful of great movies that just came out too. Statham plays the tough guy. Aubrey plays the smart seductress who is magic with computers. The unknown black actor is the driver/sniper. The English boss from PRINCESS BRIDE. And Hugh Grant plays against type as the creepy bad guy. Highly recommend but prepare yourself for the F-bombs.

The Rookie: Feds (2022–2023)

Hard to watch

Remember THE EQUILIZER with the smug English guy with a shadowy background helped thr underdog or victim get even with the bad guy we with no moral compass? Denzel did a few great movies. Then the TV Boys put a 200 pound rapper in the role because she was a black female and it stinks - running 3/10 on here. This show is that for THE ROOKIE. The star is an older, out of shape black lady who was a high-school guidance counselor but now a Rookie FBI agent. Shocker, she can drive and shoot and fight better than all the boys. She is a rule breaker who gets the job done. Yada, Yada, Yada. Never mind, like Queen Latifah, she can't actually do a single pull-up, run an a quarter mile, or shoot a target from 30 yards. Just painful to watch. One or two guest spots on "the Rookie" and it is a "spin off?" LOL. 4/10 means it won't last.

UFC 208: Holm vs. De Randamie (2017 TV Special)

TERRIBLE judging!

Wow, I have watched most of the UFC fights from #1 until today. I agree with the announcers when Joe Rogan and DC said the judge HAD to take points from Germaine de Randamie for VERY late strikes TWICE on a Holly with her hands down, well after the bell each time. Fans had Holly winning at 80%. ZERO points taken? Wow!!!! And Sylva. He lost that fight. Again, announcers called it, clearly he was down 2 going into 3rd. Just having fun, happy, enjoying life. Lost the fight. Joe said NYC was new to MMA. Just awful, terrible ref and judges. Shockingly bad. Paid off? Related to fighters? WTH is happening here?

Echo 3 (2022–2023)

Boring

Let the writers of "Notebook" and "Brokeback" get together and write a "SEAL Team" script. Lots of talking and speeches. Some artsy filmschool stuff. Half the relationships are same sex for some wack reason. Throw in five-minutes of action in every hour long episode. Doesn't make you wanna visit Columbia or Venezuela. As a retired combat veteran, I got bored and can see why I never heard of this show. Wouldn't recommend it. Not sure why I need to write a book here. Seems a bit silly. Go on and on after making my point. Weird, I see 4 line reviews. Oh well. Write and write until green. Then write one more sentence.

Bullet Train (2022)

Bloody but funny - we enjoyed the ride

One of the best I've seen from Pitt. It has a "Smoking Guns" feel to it -- bloody but with a lot of jokes and physical humor. Lots of great cameos. The story appears simple but has a complex thread through it where past incidents are pulled into context. Overall a fun movie with buckets of blood and body parts thrown in the mix. Calling the girl "The Prince" was confusing. The look at Japanese culture was cool. The Bullet Train making fast 90 degree turns was a bit crazy since it needs miles to make the transitions at over 100mph for the average speed. I wish we had one in the USA. Highly recommend the movie.

Blacklight (2022)

Hellcat is the star of movie

The car sounds amazing, slides through some sweet chase scenes. Liam is 100 year old "tough guy," outta breath and confused. The grand daughter is adorable. It is a silly, conspiracy theory flick. Big government is bad. Meanwhile, the "good" guy kills lots of innocent civilians. Just silly. Goes nowhere and quickly ends incomplete.

Cookie cutter comedy that starts slow and goes nowhere. Not good. Not funny. We laughed once in 90 minutes. Do not see this movie. Unfunny. We talked and surfed the internet. Nope.

Wow! As a retired combat veteran who has flown jets, I LOVED THIS MOVIE! It had massive heart, great action and wonderful Cameos. The flying scenes were the best I've seen. Nobody left the theater for 90 minutes!

Weak writing and direction. They wanted YELLOWSTONE and got a weak shadow of BONANZA meets OUTER LIMITS. We got bored. Won't be renewed. Cowboys may be in vogue but you have to do it right. Just throwing a pretty view and some star power on the screen won't get it.

One of those series you keep waiting for something cool to happen but it rarely does. Like the commercial shows, two old lovers have a secret. The secret gets out of control. Unfufilling and unhappy. Wouldn't recommend this one.

We enjoyed it so much! Too much cussing for mom but we laughed and laughed. Best movie by Sandra since PROPOSAL. Bratt spoofs himself. Channing is the anti-hero you root for. Put this on your list for sure!

So slow you look for Glen Close to pop up. Wife fell asleep in the first act. I made it to act 2. Weird people are giving it 7/10 when it only lasted in theaters for a week before ending up in the bargain bin at Walmart. Bad.

The Commando (2022)

If Rourke and White are your stars in 2020, it is a stinker. Mickey looks like he's wearing a Halloween mask, moves Jerry. (His fight scenes are obviouslysped up), and talks like he has a mouthfull of old beef jerky. White has acted like a tough guy so long he started calling out real MMA guys ... like Steven Segal. Movie has no plot and makes no sense. It's 3 overall rating reflects that. Extra star for sweet yellow cobra jet Mustang.

The Card Counter (2021)

Started strong, spiraled into liberal fantasy

Could have been an interesting flick about a gambler con who counts cards. Turned into a ridiculous liberal fantasy where soldiers are evil and do things that have been proven lies. Skip this boring pile of anti-American poo. Retired combat veteran.

Three of us in an empty theater, one fell asleep. LONG and windy road to nowhere. Suppose to be a trilogy, hope not. We got bored. Would not recommend. Beautiful scenery was the only winner here.

By the dude who wrote YELLOWSTONE. It is dirty and true to life but this one lacks the direction of the first. Meanders and falters in the third act. Need a 3rd with revenge.
