Underrated and overlooked spaghetti western
20 July 2002
Found on U.S.video under the title "Shotgun", for some strange and unknown reason?! This film is very good, although it may move a bit slow at times, and all the actors perform well, this is one Spaghetti Western that should not be missed by any Spaghetti Western fan! The direction is also well done as is the music which reminds one of Ennio Morricone. I was lucky enough to find it at the local video store. The print on the video is A+. Maybe this is one title that should be put out on DVD?

Gritty Western

Very well made Eurowestern with Guy Madison (almost unrecognizable) as Martin Benson. The plot may be a familiar one to Eurowest fans, but the director gives a standard plotline a fresh new look. No overacting in this film, which sometimes is the case, just straightforward acting from the entire cast. I would give the film at least five stars (maybe more)!

Dollar for the Dead (1998 TV Movie)
good eurowestern
15 January 2001
Good Eurowestern! The producer Tony Anthony is in fact THE Tony Anthony who starred in several very well made Eurowesterns including the original version of this movie known as "A Stranger In Town" Un-fortunately, Emilio Estevez is miscast in this remake, and his acting is not suited to this kind of film. The movie would have been a lot better with someone else cast in the role of "The Stranger" AKA "Cowboy"! See the original instead! It is available on video at a hefty price of $25.00, from Luminous Film and Video Wurks, but it is well worth your time and money!
