Father Stu (2022)
For the love of god
So I had a sneaky feeling this was getting down voted because of Mel Gibson's cancellation, subject matter or both but I love a true story so I took a gamble on this.
If you are able to put the above aside you are in for a real treat.
Both actors put in a minimum Oscar nomination, I was laughing at some of the one liner like it was a comedy and it was just a bloody good watch. Add in it is based on true story then it's a must watch for anyone regardless of your faith.
14 Peaks: Nothing Is Impossible (2021)
Vertical madness
I was feeling unwell and put this on to fall asleep too.
Well I didn't fall asleep as it was a truly inspirational story!
Read some poor reviews on this so I felt obliged to write a review as I have absolutely no interest in mountaineering but how can you not enjoy Nimes fearless attempt.
Ojing-eo geim (2021)
If Running Man and Battle Royale had a baby
Without crossing that line of spoiler alert there is two glaring issues with this series but not enough to make this unenjoyable.
I wish these issues where at the beginning not the end of the series but it was one hell of a watch. As I sat there it made me remember films like Old Boy... fight club and Charlie and the chocolate factory. Last 15 mins of episode 1 it really goes off. It was like of running man and battle royale had a baby.
If your not hooked by end episode one then I wouldn't bother continuing but you will for sure. I voted 9 which was a little higher than I would have but people voting 5 is well out or order also so it is my way to balance it out as this has to be the best tv series I have watched this year.
Between Black and Blue (2020)
DET Joel Humphrey
Just when you think you have already heard all the stories of incompetent cops then up pops DET Joel Humphrey literally laughing while he lies about his and his colleagues cover up.
That guy needs a slap although I do wonder if he sat there with his head in his hands watching this documentary with face paint and clown boots on.
Against the Tides (2019)
An Elite athlete required
Possible spoilers here...
We can all be critical of Beth (lead) but what separates her and elite athletes that succeed is their unwilling not to be unselfish.
What really got my back up though was all the people that committed their time, money and efforts to assist this women to achieve something no one has ever done or could even contemplate being able to afford to attempt.
Fair play to the staff and director for attempting to have an ending to this film.
I felt sorry enough that you wasted a year of you're lives on two snowflakes that have the rest of their lives together I just had to make account to make a review of this film; I mean they travelled the world together ffs what more of a journey do you need with your son?
This film is only worth watching to feel the pain of the crew that probably wasted 2019 filming this, I hope Beth sits there and thinks of all the opportunities they have lost out on while she muddy cuddles her son and I pray to God any money made from this film is given to charities for the fools that donate hard earned cash for her to complete her dream!
