Review-Bombed TV Shows & Movies

The state of social media in recent years has resulted in a sub-section of it becoming plagued with users that will denounce any attempt that has representation of minorities and LGBTQ+ content, calling any sign of that parts of an "agenda," "woke mind virus," "political statement," and/or "radical" leftist-driven takeover of people's minds. The majority of these claims have been made by conservative christian republicans that will do anything to either dissuade any further attempt at such acknowledgement of these people's existence, and/or burn these works' reputation in a way that somehow can be seen as not a blatant discrimination of a person's race, sex, and/or political beliefs. This list serves as a warning for those that want to make sure that what they watch has actually gotten reliable reception elsewhere on the internet and have become victims of what is now disturbingly becoming an increasingly common-place phenomenon.
Superior Remakes/Adaptations of Lesser-Received Movies

There are many reasons why remakes exist. Money, nostalgia, cashing in on whatever memes are trending, these new interpretations of previously realized works can tend to lose sight of what made their predecessors so beloved in the first place and as a result, lack the charm, wit, and/or substances that first attracted viewers to begin with. Yet despite this being the case multiple times, there have been several throughout the past century have been able to do so by asking themselves a simple question: How can we take the ideas and themes that these works highlighted and make them relevant to today's audiences? This is a list of such remakes that've been able to take full advantage of the tools and canvas they're given and expand upon what made the original films work in the first place and not become stale retellings of these stories in the process.
TV Adaptations That Are Better Than The Movie Adaptations

Sometimes, bringing beloved stories to new mediums doesn't always work. There have been multiple cases of this happening over the past almost 50 years, with many of them being adaptations of either lengthy comic books, multi-part book series, or 8-hour long video games. These films usually miss the point of what made their source material so iconic in the first place and as a result, end up being rushed, cheaper, and overall inferior versions of the stories they're supposed to be bringing to life in front of their fans' eyes. The good news is that studios are slowly realizing this and putting future adaptations in a medium that better suited the long-form storytelling and character development that was lost missing in previous adaptations of the books and comics featured below. Thanks to the rise of the television set, higher budgets, fan-based production teams, and streaming services that offer more creative freedom than ever, the things that we've been able to cherish growing up can now have the potential to bring justice to the worlds people have given praise to for decades. This is a list of such shows that've learned from said past mistakes.
Superior Sequels and Prequels to Poorly Received Movies

We've all been there. Films from our childhoods that we've enjoyed personally, but were not actually critically well-received to begin with. Despite that, they would each get more and more fans over time to officially earn the title of "cult classic" and better appreciation from viewers around the world (even the crews behind the films themselves if they weren't particularly fond of them to begin with). In recent times, studios have been taking advantage of that nostalgia and creating direct sequels to these works that try to mine those memories and create something that could pay off for them in the long run. Now that doesn't mean than fans won't know the difference between them and their predecessors (Space Jam: A New Legacy), but there have actually been sequels created over the years that actually do improve upon what worked before and expand upon that to actually being Oscar-worthy in their own right (Top Gun: Maverick). These are some of the movies that gratifyingly fall under that particular category.
Kids Content That've Grown Up (To Some Extent)

In a world where people can now have access to and knowledge of things that weren't as easy to obtain prior to the advent of the internet, the supposed kid-targeted franchises of yesterday, aware of how their fans grow up and mature overtime, may end up either maturing with them or creating content specifically for that age group, while also still making content for their original target demographic. This can be seen with various reinventions of works such as some of the 2000s live-action shows from Nickelodeon, classic series from Cartoon Network, iconic toys from Mattel, and of course, the superheroes of DC and Marvel comics. This list showcases, as much as it can, the many works that've either firmly cemented their respective franchises as ones not truly suitable for younger viewers, or at least aged up enough to allow things that wouldn't have been imaginable previously, but still maintain some of their supposed original kid-appeal. As a warning, additional films, shows, and/or games from the same franchise may be included on this list if they're in relation to either continuing the trend of maturity set by a prior entry or if it's in relation to an installment meant for newer fans of very young age.
