If Netflix was around in the early 2000s...
10 August 2019
This show had so much potential and Fox never gave season 2 a chance. If Netflix was around and picked up Tru Calling after fox cancelled it we would have gotten another 4 seasons. Netflix should remake this show now and let it have the run it deserves

I tried... I really tried
28 July 2019
I mean it's like the creator of the show chose the most extreme side of the spectrum of deciding how teenagers act. This shows seems like it's more like a dream rather than reality, and the trials and tribulations seem too far fetched for me to take this show seriously. Come on really I get sex and drugs but the way they handle these themes are too extreme. It's like these teenagers have no adult supervision and trust me at that age the parents would be hovering over those kids. The ratings are bad for a reason because what average teenager (I know what your are going to say this show is not for the average teenager) would sit there and watch something they can't relate too? I really tried to like this show but each episode became less and less intriguing because it was like they tried to go from one extreme to the other, which actually lessened the shock value.

Felt like I was watching 13 reasons why
13 July 2019
This movie takes you on a road to discovery to uncover why a teenager has died, which sounds familiar because it's the same exact plot as 13 reasons why but it replaces suicide with murder. The movie falls flat in trying to keep audiences' attention, and the graphic horrific scenes were not needed in the movie because viewers could have imagined the horrific video that was being watched by the protagonist (aka, Echo). The acting also fell flat which was a shame because it was such a dramatic film that you needed excellent acting to do justice to the script.

Culture vs. Society
21 June 2019
Majority of Arab reviewers are rating this show in comparison to their culture, but they need to understand that Netflix is inclusive and tries to produce shows that will connect to the majority of subscribers. Jordan is a westernised country (for example, the Queen does not wear a hijab) so of course the show will represent the westernised side for a western platform (aka, Netflix). Overall, this show was like many supernatural Netflix shows so I would recommend it.

Yes!

Just when I thought Netflix has let me down one too many times they bring this beautiful show to light. The three actresses chemistry is amazing and their character development is equally so. This show made me laugh and cry which is always hard to do. I also got 80s vibes from this show which was an added bonus.

My slippery slope down Netflix started with this movie
11 June 2019
This is one of the best scary movies I've ever seen! It's original, creepy and kept me glued to my screen which is a recipe for success in my book.

Cut it out
26 May 2019
Warning: Spoilers
Why are movies and shows on Netflix trying so hard to be edgy, and their attempt of trying to be the first to do something seems like they are just recycling other people's work. Also, if Charlotte wanted to protect Lizzie why didn't she just kidnap her and help her "see the light". Viewers would have thought she was torturing her but in reality she was performing electroconvulsive therapy that worked on her to not be brainwashed anymore. She chose the weirdest route of all which was to make her cut off her hand which is a form of abuse. This movie is all over the place and Netflix needs to stop trying so hard.

Solstice: gentrification and technology/ Executioner: bad acting
23 May 2019
Watching the first episode of season 3 I already see the attempt to show the unintended consequences of technology and gentrification. Political statements have no place in a show based on horror. If I wanted to watch a thought provoking show then I'd watch "Black Mirror". I had high expectations after season 2 but I'll keep watching and see if it gets better... I'm up to episode 5 and if a killer is targeting the residents of an apartment complex then why isn't the police evacuating them and put them in a safe and secure location until they find the killer?

20 minutes into the first episode and that girl has no acting skills. This is not a lifetime movie where the main actress doesn't need to know how to act. They should of used the same actors as The "guilty party" season like American Horror Story. This actress has no depth whatsoever and is not believable. The 5 stars are for the "guilty party" actors.

I felt like I was stuck in a chamber watching this
9 May 2019
Warning: Spoilers
Tv show production 101: the main character needs to know how to act! Unfortunately, in this show they didn't get the memo that the person who is in 80% of the scenes needs to know how to act. The actress needs to take acting classes because her dialogue felt forced and I felt like she was doing a table read. She also looks like she's in her 30s and looks nowhere near being a teenager which through me off because every time she would share screen time with Uma Thurman they looked more like friends rather than what they should be portraying which is a mother daughter relationship. The other teenagers looked like actual teenagers which only made her look older. Ok, the plot of this sow has been done before and it has been done better (e.g. Rosemary's baby). This show is unoriginal and lacking any element of surprise.

Only Mine (2019 TV Movie)

No just no
26 April 2019
I thought Lifetime movies were bad but this was really bad. First, there was no reason for the interviews in between the scenes. The movie would have flowed better if the interviews were left for the end or if there were no interviews at all. Second, the acting was horrible. For example, the protagonist didn't even look that nervous for someone who is being stalked and she needs to invest in Vaseline because whenever she cries there are not tears! Finally, the plot was boring and predictable. This movie gained an extra star for making me appreciate lifetime movies that much more.

The Twilight Zone: The Wunderkind (2019)

WTH?
25 April 2019
By far the worst episode of the season yet! Boring plot and the symbolism was so obvious, and there was no eerie feeling that you feel when you watch the original twilight zone. The twist at the end was not a twist and the political aspects of these episodes could have been executed subtly to make the episode more creepy but the blatant awareness of politics just overshadows the show. When watching the original twilight zone I usually have a sense of anxiety because it's so eerie but the 2019 version has me feeling angry by wasting my time.
