Raging Bull (1980)
Typical Scorcese
When I say typical Scorcese, I'm saying that this is just another one of the great films that he produces. He's one of the finest and most versatile directors in the business.
Raging Bull, starring Robert De Niro, tells the story of Jake La Mota, a talented and quickly rising boxing star. He quickly falls in love with Vickie, a beautiful young girl, and they marry. Jake's manager and brother, Joe, is with him all along the story. Jake is a stubborn, selfish, and jealous person. He is always questioning his wife's faithfulness to him, even to the point of accusing his brother of sleeping with her. All the while Jake is trying to achieve the title of world champion. These selfish feelings are eventually what brings his downfall.
Robert De Niro gives another great performance. He's so believable as the paranoid Jake La Mota. Co-stars Joe Pesci and Cathy Moriarty also give great performances.
The cinematography is great. Editing was good.
Overall, a good film. Check it out.
Rain Man (1988)
Gripping, Moving, and Truly good movie
Rain Man took me a while to get into, but once I did, I was totally absorbed in the film.
The story is about somewhat of a snob of a man, Charlie Babbit. He finds out that his father, who he hadn't written, called, or talked to since he was a teenager, had passed away. Without even shedding a tear he goes to his fathers funeral. He later finds out that his father, a millionaire, only left him the car that ruined their relationship in the first place. The 3 million dollars that he did leave was left to Raymond Babbit... his brother. Charlie never knew he had a brother. Raymond is autistic, but very highly functioning. He can do math problems and count at unimaginable rates.
Dustin Hoffman as Raymond, is unbelievable. I didn't realize just how good his performance was, until I began arguing with myself whether Raymond was a real person, or just a character in a film. You won't believe Hoffman is just acting.
The story is very moving, and yes, I did shed a tear or two. And I'm sure you will too.
Rain Man is an incredible piece of film.
7.8/10
Ratatouille (2007)
Freakin Awesome
Well, I know there has been a lot of controversy about Ratatouille being on the top 250 movies of all time. First of all I think that people just need to calm down and know that its just a list. BUT ANYWAY, At first I thought with its 8.8 rating that maybe it was over-hyped, but it did live up to the hype. It wasn't as funny as I thought it would be, but in some places it was definitely funny. Some people said on the message boards: "I don't know why people said it was funny, I didn't laugh, and not one person in the theater did either." Well I don't know what movie they were watching, but it wasn't Ratatouille! Next to The Incredibles this is one of the best Pixar films yet. A GREAT movie for the family. I was really happy after seeing this movie. I definitely got my money's worth.
A well deserved 10/10
Banjo-Kazooie (1998)
Possibly the greatest game ever made on the N64
This game is EXCELLENT! a perfect family game that someone of any age can play! Its a decently lengthy game so you wont be able to beat it in 2 days. When I played it it took me and my family about 8 months to beat it. There are some parts that are hard, but still fun. And after your figure out how to get through the hard part, you see that it was very obvious. A goofy story line and great characters, this game is #1 on my list for ever! Banjo and Kazooie's hilarious comedy keeps you into it all the way! If you have played this game, or are planning to, I would also recommend Banjo-Tooie. The sequel to this great game.
Rareware is planning on making a Banjo-Kazooie 3 sometime soon. There has not yet been a release date on this, but it will definitely be on the Xbox 360.
If you haven't played this game yet then you have NO IDEA what your missing! So get out of your mom's basement and go play: Banjo-Kazooie for N64
Comedy Central Presents: Gabriel Iglesias (2003)
Gabriel was great!!
I disagree with that guy who said he was ''bland.'' He is the greatest comedian I have seen on Comedy Central. He was hilarious!! The only time I wasn't laughing during his show was during commercials. He is currently on Last Comic Standing, on NBC. He is doing great on the show. He has made it to the last few comics.
If you have not heard this comic on T.V you need to tune in to Last Comic Standing, and check him out. He will probably make it to the last 2-4 on Last Comic Standing. Remember, if there are 1,000 people that say he is great, and one guy that says he stinks, don't listen to that one guy!
Gabriel is the greatest!!
