Avatar: The Last Airbender: Into the Dark (2024)
Leaves from the vine
Every time. Every time I hear that song! It never fails to bring a few tears to my eyes. And with the scene it was used for this time round just hit it home even more. This episode did a great job of carrying on what the last episode did. Compacting a few of the more filler type episodes from the original show into one episode that manages to speed it up a bit. Some may have been a bit to quick but overall it sped up the story so no actual filler episodes. Getting to see the dragon of the west fight as well was just some icing on the cake for the episode. Using the chains he's been imprisoned with as weapons was genius. But how iron ended the fight just proved what a good man he was.
Ahsoka: Part Five: Shadow Warrior (2023)
Incredible and intense!
This show just keeps getting better and better week on week! I am lost for words in a way. It was clear it was a Filoni episode and boy he did an amazing job. Everything about this episode hit it home. From the action, the suspense and the music. It just made it a perfect piece of Star Wars material. It was so gratifying watching it as a clone wars and rebels fan as it showed just how important those shows are to the franchise and the story. Anakin continuing her training. The flashes of Vader. The clone wars flashbacks! I will say there was a slight continuity error in the flashbacks but i understand the reasoning behind it. I can't wait to see where this goes from here as it can only keep getting better!
Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City (2021)
This could've been great
I felt the majority of the casting was really good, especially Birkin. But after that it just went down hill. The film looked and felt like a high budget fan film. They tried to fill it with as much fan service as possible. I won't deny it looked like the games and the set design was really good. But that couldn't save the film. They tried to fit to many plot lines in a short time rather then what the games did and spread it across a few games. It's a shame because by sticking to the games it could've lead to a great series of films.
The Book of Boba Fett: Chapter 7: In the Name of Honor (2022)
Brilliant final
A brilliant episode from start to finish. Picking up right where the last episode left off. The battle built up in stages just getting better and better! The final players brought into the battle were fantastic. And then the final duel. Just yes. It'll never be what people's theories are but that sometimes makes it better. The music just added to it. Making everything more powerful and suspenseful. Some of it was predictable but that didn't take away from any of it. Just made it more exciting. Ended the story perfectly. The only thing I could've asked for. More! And a longer episode. But as said early. Not all the theories come true.
Midway (2019)
An incredible true story about brave men on both sides
A brilliant depiction of the war in the pacific. Focusing on both the Americans and the Japanese. It had a good mix of time spent on both sides. Showing there are two sides in every war. A good amount of action sequences and intelligence scenes. Showing just how vital the actions going on behind the scenes were to the actions on the sea. A nice touch at the end dedicating it to naval personal on both sides.
Black Widow (2021)
Amazing
Finally this film is here! Everything about this film from start to finish is brilliant. It is filled with enough one liners to make it funny while the rest is just pure action! Every fight scene is choreographed and performed to perfection. The acting is on point for each actor and the rest of the widow family was cast incredibly well. The plot was great. But the music! Marvel always have amazing soundtracks and this is no different! Every piece of music was incredible! Only reason this film isn't a ten is because I would've loved to see some more taskmaster.
Star Wars: The Bad Batch: Replacements (2021)
Good
This episode certainly had a darker tone running on the background. And crosshairs is certainly evil now. Even with the chip. It's great to see the phasing into stormtroopers and how they think the clones can help the empire even as they vanish from the universe. As for the bad batch they can't catch a break. Crashing and getting stuck. But a brilliant chance for omega to develop. She is truly a valuable member of the squad.
Star Wars: The Bad Batch: Cut and Run (2021)
Still good
To start filler episode so drop down to nine. But that's the only bad part. The episode itself was great. Finally some closure on cut and a happy moment. The development of a father daughter relationship between hunter and omega. Omega is starting to come into her own and be braver and more independent. It's amazing to see the empire taking over so quickly.
Star Wars: The Bad Batch: Aftermath (2021)
Everything Star Wars needs!
This was brilliant. I was so looking forward to this and was not disappointed. Everything about this. From start to finish was amazing. The beginning was unexpected but not unwelcome. Bradley certainly has his work cut out for him. But as proven he did brilliantly. The music worked every time. The action scenes were great. Bring on the next episode!
Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.: As I Have Always Been (2020)
An amazing episode
By far the best episode of the season so far. Strong performances from everyone. Especially Enoch! That final scene. Those final moments! Was an amazing piece of acting. To show so much feeling and emotion without showing any emotion. Brilliant!
Warrior (2019)
Brilliant tv!
This show is amazing. Every episode is so well shot. The fights choreographed to perfection and always incredible to watch. The plot flows so well from episode to episode. From hit to hit! There are some episodes which do slow it down but nothing to drastic to make it unwatchable. Personally I'd say one episode in each season feels a bit random but nothing to serious. Overall I'd say this show is brilliant. A must watch for anyone who likes action shows
Warrior: Enter the Dragon (2020)
Outstanding!
What a beautiful stunning episode! From beginning to end this was incredible. The fight through Chinatown. When both the tongs came together and charged into battle! Best episode of the season by far
Soul (2020)
Not sure what the fuss was about
I'll start this off by agreeing it was a enjoyable film. But I don't understand all the hype for it. I found the animation style weird and the storyline quite depressing at points. There are multiple points in this film that will probably hit home for a lot of people as being depressingly true. This film personally wasn't inspirational. It was just. Bland. Possibly a miss for Pixar
The Mandalorian: Chapter 11: The Heiress (2020)
Oh my god!
This episode was amazing. Season 2 has just been getting better and better. This one didn't stop that trend! Bo Katan! Finally. A live action version. She looks just as amazing and Katee Sackhoff played her incredibly as always. The episode had a brilliant build up. Loads of action. And finally a name drop we've all been waiting for. Give me the next episode!
Star Wars: The Clone Wars: Victory and Death (2020)
Wooh!
What an end to the clone wars. It had me on the edge of my seat throughout! The carnage of maul. The protection of Ashoka. Even to the end she cared for the clones. Deciding not to kill them even though they wouldn't have hesitated to do so! Rex piloting a y wing was great. Didn't know he could do that. Everything about this episode was a perfect end. But those final two scenes. Burying all the clones! And with that music I had to admit brought a tear to my eye. But that final scene! The empire has begun. And Vader! Coming to make sure the job was done! The shot of him holding a blue lightsaber was truly haunting. The final good and evil fight within him for a long time
Star Wars: The Clone Wars: Shattered (2020)
Amazing
This was just as heart breaking as I expected. But every minute of this episode was great. The way Rex tried to fight against his programming. To protect someone he cared about. Then fighting through the cruiser. Trying to save Rex. This was everything ww could've asked for from order 66
Star Wars: The Clone Wars: The Phantom Apprentice (2020)
A work of art!
This episode again didn't hold back! From start to finish it was amazing. Building up some last minute character development building backstory everyone has so desperately wanted! The chase, the hunt, the reveal! It was all great. And maul being in the throne room. The amount of sass that man has really not caring. The battle between the super commandos and the clones was visually stunning. But then the main event! The motion captured fight we've all been waiting for. A pure work of art! Ashoka made light work of maul and didn't let him go. Chasing him to the roof and capturing him like that! But mauls final scream. Showing he now knows the truth! Haunting
Star Wars: The Clone Wars: Old Friends Not Forgotten (2020)
Masterpiece
This episode was absolutely amazing! This is what the clone wars is all about. From start to finish this episode had me glued to it. The beginning was so visual and lovely to watch setting up the final plays for character we know the outcomes of. Moving swiftly on to an a hero reunion. Then the invasion began. I had goosebumps from the first shot to the peaceful middle. The invasion was just incredible. The way everything fit together and how Ashoka moved from ship to ship! Then that ending. Kenobi!!! Yes! Just yes!
Doctor Who: The Timeless Children (2020)
What wasted potential!
This was in my opinion the worst story in the history of at least new who. The changed to established cannon. The changes to the main character and her own species. It was an insult to everyone who has watched the show, to everyone who has ever been in the show and most importantly any actor who has played the doctor! Now moving onto the episode itself! The story was poorly written and poorly executed. There was no clear reasoning behind anything that happened or any motives for what the master did. The cybermen were once again wasted to become henchmen to someone else and whoever came up with the name cybermasters should never be allowed to write something again! What a terrible name for something that could've been great! The lone cyberman was wasted. He was bigged up from mid season as the big bad guy. But he was sidelined for the master, i love the master but come on! You do something different and imaginative with the cybermen then waste it! The acting of the doctor and the master was by far the best part as they were phenomenal with what poor writing they were given but everyone else's acting I have to say felt forced at points and sub par. The guest actors were better then the recurring actors. The ending didn't make much sense for what was established earlier in the season. The doctor was the fugitive the entire time? Then why didn't that come up during the fugitive episode? Overall one of the worst and most underwhelming episodes ever!
Aladdin (2019)
Not a good version
If it wasn't for Will Smith this film would be terrible. Even then I couldn't watch it. I managed to make it ten minutes in before I wanted to give up. But I struggled through. The new songs didn't make sense and were weird. The new characters were just unnecessary! Only watch this if like me you honestly can't find anything else to watch!
Terminator: Dark Fate (2019)
Good terminator movie
I personally loved this movie. I'd say it was a very good return of some moved characters and James Cameron. This new timeline follows on perfectly from the second movie and manages to flow seamlessly into it. It has some slow bits especially towards the beginning which made it drop a star for me and some of the dialogue was a bit clunky. But besides that I loved it. The action seems were so well choreographed and performed brilliantly. A welcome return to two characters who portrayed their characters in this new world perfectly for what they'd been through. The ending set up for another movie but also left it in such a way that it could be ended there which I thought was a perfect ending
Joker (2019)
Great!
This film isn't really one you need to think about. If you can't concentrate on the story and focus on what's going on then don't bother because you won't get it. But if you want a film that'll actually make you think and question what's going on then watch joker!
Phoenix was amazing in the role. Playing Arthur from when he was kind of stable to when he was now joker was brilliant to watch and performed perfectly. To watch as his life completely fell apart and was tore to shreds by the society he lived in was incredible. But the last twenty minutes! When joker was finally released! Oh god! What an amazing piece of film! I would love to see more from him. To watch his character and his joker develop even more in the world he's started to build!
Mortal Engines (2018)
Eh
It wasn't a bad movie just slightly boring. The storyline may have been good but I'm assuming the book series is miles better. It was a very predictable storyline and all the 'twists' could be worked out from the beginning of the film or when certain characters were introduced. The ending was typical and slightly dull. The only reason this film holds up is the CGI. It was very impressive and the only thing that kept me watching
Peaky Blinders (2013)
Good show
Peaky blinders is a good show. It has a good story and great characters. But what makes this show so good is the acting! Everyone who plays a lead role is a brilliant actor. But I do have to admit sometimes it can be a bit slow
Star Wars: The Clone Wars (2008)
I love the clone wars!
I can safely say I am always happy to watch clone wars. I love nearly every episode. The only reason this isn't a 10 for me is that some episodes I personally find annoying, they mostly star one specific character, but that doesn't matter. Everything else about the show is amazing. The voice acting, the casting, the character design. It all adds up to a perfect cannon addition to Star Wars!
