Usually i enjoy the work of Spielberg, but not this time. I totally agree with tieman64's review about Spielbergs new "eye",but it doesn't save this one. The story is wafer thin, and doesn't carry a feature film. It's much more suited for TV,as the "Tales of the Unexpected" by Roald Dahl in the late 70's. I still don't get the purpose of the alien invasion.
Often enough with Hollywoodfilms,a couple of big names ie Spielberg,Cruise and Tim Robbins guarantees money back. And then some. It's all about the hype! I saw "The Day of the Triffids" on TV in the mid 80's,and it made a lot more sense.
