Amazingly overrated
21 July 2023
I can't believe this film won so many Oscars, goes to show the academy has truly lost their sense of what great cinema is.

Mildly funny, and often forced, 5th grade humor and mostly slapstick comedy is considered genius now?

Also blatantly and shamelessly ripped multiple things off from The Matrix including bullet time and the concept of a savior character who needs to unlock her powers, "downloading" knowledge - this movie is far from original or inventive.

Yes it's entertaining, a little trippy at times, nothing mind blowing if you're familiar with the concept of a multi dimension universe - this take on it is far from believable by any means even with suspended disbelief and wasn't very entertaining, Spider-Man did the concept 10x better.

10 for the troops
9 April 2023
4/10 for the journalists that made it more about themselves than the troops and people or Afghanistan. Too much glorification about their sacrifices or the danger they were in and not enough about the soldiers risking their lives. I gave this 10 for the ending as I think it finally got on track towards the end during the memorial for the 6 soldiers who died during the operation.

But I can only imagine how much better it would be if they had only focused on them and the battle, how insanely dangerous it was, the technical issues they had airlifting the soldiers to safety, all the fascinating details that were glossed over in lieu of the self promotional scenes and soap box monologues the journalists.

Make a biography about yourself as a separate film but don't mix it into this.

Pointless Gratuitous Gore
27 February 2023
Cringeworthy shock cinema that awkwardly stumbles it's way through cliches of forsaken love and betrayal with awkwardly prolonged gore or empty dialogue that always ends up being many minutes too long.

I have rarely seen such a soulless attempt to create "art." Stomach churning scenes that clearly purposely go over the top to create shock but have zero point and achieve nothing.

Violent scenes have their place in creating exciting cinema - from Gladiator to Saving Private Ryan - in this case the violence is meaningless with zero backstory on why the eaters need to feed, what events led to their existence or creation and what the point of it all

Aside from impressive performances from the young actors and some nice cinematography in the Midwest, this move offers no lessons, no moral compass and lacks heart.

Two of the most uncomfortable hours of my life that I'll never get back and I'll have my friend to partially blame, but she couldn't have known either.

Save your time and watch a show or movie with cannibalistic themes that has some class, a real plot, and meaningful character development like the Hannibal TV series, or Silence of the Lambs, 0/10, do not recommend and not even a better love sorry than Twilight.

Terrible interviewer
1 October 2021
Insensitive, totally rude questions, I deeply feel for the victims but the interviewer/director is not the right person who should have done this movie at all.

Asking questions to victims with survivor's guilt like "how do you live with that every day?" is downright stupid and outrageously insensitive. The guy has an emotional IQ of about zero.

Not even remotely funny
8 February 2021
If your primitive sense of humor relies on the unnecessary use of swearing with no creative jokes at all you might find the show funny. The show's creators must have impressed those Netflix execs with their oral skills to get this gig.
