Father Brown: The Serpent Within (2023)
I no longer watch this show
I no longer watch this show. You would tune in and get settled down with Mrs. McCarthy, Bunty and others to see they all left in season 10?
Season 10. I skipped shows to see if I could get into it and I just could not. The two female characters they hired could not have been worse picks.
That dipsy girl brings nothing. That hair brained woman is all over the place. This show isn't for me anymore. It's not the same by any means or standards.
Sorcha Cusack was bigoted, nosy and a real gossip but she was a real character and you took her as what she was worth when watching. It made the show enjoyable.
Now it has gone down hill to the point I just don't watch anymore.
Hell House LLC Origins: The Carmichael Manor (2023)
Who fathered the kids?
Right at the beginning we see a family of five. It explains the mother and daughter were killed. It then shows their bloody corpses in the beds. Then they go to say they might suspect the father or his son but they soon realize they've been missing from there for years.
Then it says the father and his 20 year old son have been missing for 30 years. So, if at the time the father and son were there and then came missing, who fathered the two younger daughters? Right then and there it takes away from the movie if it isn't explained at the beginning. It just didn't make sense from the very start.
The Eternal Daughter (2022)
The Eternal slumber
I'm not kidding. This was the worst movie I have ever seen in my life. I can say that because I never actually watched Ishtar.
This movie must have cost a few thousand to make. Why anyone would begin to think this movie was the least bit enjoyable is beyond me.
Boring, boring, slow pace, little dialogue followed up by more boring, boring boring. I'd be ashamed to make a movie like this and have my name on it.
The one thing I truly hate is when someone watches a movie and decides to rate it and then they log onto this database and you see a bunch of bots have rated it a 10.
You can sit back in your chair, preferably a recliner in case you fall asleep, and watch this movie and wind up asking yourself "What were they thinking?" Who wrote this? There was very little dialogue in the entire movie. Very little. All I can say is that it must have been written and shot in one day. It was that bad.
The Banshees of Inisherin (2022)
Strangely disturbing
I found this movie deeply disturbing to the point of almost being farcical.
Maybe the word I am looking for is "far-fetched".
It's well worth a watch considering I've never seen anything like it before.
Collin Farrell did a pretty good job considering he just wanted answers. It's never fun when friendships break up. I think most people actually just move on. This movie gave the friendship duo almost a "fatal attraction" vibe but there was nothing sexual about it.
I will say that I knew two friends who went their separate ways. One friend owed the other money and refused to pay it back. What he did for the next six months to drive his friend crazy would be a movie on it's own. The second friend learned a hard lesson about not paying someone back and the aftermath of cheating him was not worth his sanity!
The VVitch: A New-England Folktale (2015)
A total waste of time
I watched this and realized it was a total waste of my time.
The movie was absolutely horrible. It just drug on and on in
some of the worst acting I have ever seen. It's not a horror
movie. It is just one long drawn out ....something they threw
together as if they were a bad 5th graders project. These
reviews that give this an 8, 9 or 10 must be getting paid.
I just don't get it. I'm a normal person, a movie fan and when
a movie like this is so bad that I'd gave it a 1 star, why do people
rate it so highly? Trust me, if you haven't seen this movie then
do not waste your time. Yes, again, it is that bad.
Dragon: The Weapon of God (2022)
Ishtar2
And they wonder why more awards aren't given to black films when they are this bad. I think we've had enough of this social justice black oppression dogma. If you start to watch this movie, you'll get up and leave within 20 minutes.
Firestarter (2022)
Watch the original and skip this one
The original was quite good. This one was pathetic.
I wish they'd stop doing remakes when there is no way they can improve on the original. The acting was horrible. The little girl wasn't convincing at all. As many have said, it is kind of sad they don't make new movies and just wind up rehashing old classics and then they fail.
Beware! The Blob (1972)
Worse than Ishtar
It truly saddened me to see a great star like Burgess Meredith in this compete failure of a movie. It wasn't funny. It wasn't comical.
Bad acting at its total worse. One star, don't watch it and waste your time.
In the first movie, cold shrank the blob. They did a good job on the first version but this movie had such bad acting it was beyond comparing it to any other movie.
Antlers (2021)
Tired of "fake" reviews. This movie was awful
Don't even waste your time on this movie. It was just God awful. Very slow paced with horrible acting and dialogue. It sounded interesting. It's one of those movies you watched and realized you wasted your entire time rather than just get up and drive over to a burger joint. When I see all these fake reviews, I just want to throw up.
The Time Machine (1960)
His 1917 stop
His 1917 stop showed the son of Filby. He looked a bit old to be 17 yrs old. He left at 1900 and stopped it at 1917. Before he left Filby said he was going home to be with the wife and baby. Then when he stopped in 1960, Filby's son looked like he was at least 90 yrs old.
Star Trek: Discovery (2017)
Star Trek meets Lost in Space
Horrible first episode. you don't root for any of the characters. this is not the vibe of star trek at all. First episode was an all black cast. As if that wasn't noticeable. The original Star Trek could have cared less about color or if you were an alien, etc.
This isn't even a good knock off of Lost in Space.
Luce (2019)
Black people lie is the message?
ARE YOU SERIOUS?
The message of this movie is that black people can do bad things and then people cover up for them even at the cost of others losing their job?
What kind of a signal does that send? This movie was complete trash.
A mentally unbalanced teen gets his teacher fired, who was trying to help him. He lied throughout the movie and set up alibi's. It was disgusting. Rather than do the right thing, his white adopted mother doesn't turn him in and the teacher is fired.
That only teaches people that black people lie and you cover up for them. It's a disgusting message to send out in 2020.
Snowpiercer (2020)
More crap tv
To be honest, I watched two episodes and quit.
Stale, boring actors. No originality. The took
the basics of the movie and tried to spin it
off into a tv series. Rarely do I thumbs down
a tv show or movie. This was utter unbelievable
hogwash. The used the movies fanbase to try
and come up with a series and totally failed.
The Invisible Man (2020)
Long drawn out, boredom
This movie was long and drawn out. The cops role was that of a total idiot. Especially 3/4 in. What a sad script to make him look like a buffoon. This movie was highly anticipated and it failed miserably in my view. The ending was totally predictable given the amount of time left in the movie. Do they think audiences are stupid? ::4 yawns::
Bloodshot (2020)
Very Ho Hum
I am and always will be a Vin Diesel fan. This movie was ho hum. You just sat there and watched. You didn't cheer, you didn't clap. You just sat and watched from start to finish. This movie would be better if you got it on a free library day on a dvd on a lazy rainy day. There wasn't literally one thing there that we haven't seen before. Been there, saw that.
Star Trek: Picard: Broken Pieces (2020)
The BEST episode yet!
I literally fist pumped a "hell yes" during one scene. Action packed episode!
More action next week! I can't wait! Ignore the naysayers. If you like Star Trek you are going to get into this series and love it!
The Dustwalker (2019)
Suspense with a nice twist
This is not fake review. This movie did a decent job at keeping me entertained from start to finish. I am not a professional reviewer. A sleepy little town out in the dessert has residents falling ill. Unable to figure it out, they do what we would do. Just see who is alive and gather them up. Then try and figure out what is going on. They learn along the way, they finally encounter some help.
It's not a blockbuster Aliens vs Predator movie. So if you are looking for blood, guts and horror it's not here. This was just an enjoyable movie to watch for me with a nice plot twist in the end. I credit them since it was original and not some horrible remake of some of our classics. It's just slower paced and I'm not sorry I watched it. I liked it. I write some reviews because I watch stuff and hate seeing all the fake reports where they label movies a 10 10 10! All the time only to be a 2. I gave this one an 8 because of it's originality. They all did a fine job, the acting and dialogue. If you want a movie to kick back and watch leisurely, this is for you.
Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets (2017)
Just horrible acting and script
It's a cheap high school production of Avatar. Absolutely horrible to watch. I can see why people just shut it off halfway through. You give it a chance since you read the reviews and then realized it's a dog.
Sonic the Hedgehog (2020)
jim carrey is as stale as 5 day old toast
Why would anyone hire the same actor who does the same thing in his movies? He's not funny, he's stale. We've seen that act and he's a flop. He's not funny anymore. The same old tired routine and someone thought to hire him for this movie? It could have been so much more with another actor.
Terminator: Dark Fate (2019)
Mediocre and boringly unbelievable
The only saving factor in this movie is that Linda Hamilton still has star power. Arnold is old, fat and totally unbelievable in his character. After this flop, I don't see even the most die hard fans going to the theaters again to pay for this. They'll wait on some rainy Sunday and watch it on a free movie rental on youtube.
The Witcher (2019)
Nudity and foul language
Henry has a nice body, we get it already. He takes off his shirt, he takes a bath, we get it, we get it. Naked people, foul four letter words. Now that you've watched Season 1, go back and edit all that crap out. It would still be a viable series. It started out pretty good but then fizzled and the last episode was pretty weak. All those "witches" and they get tired? Oh brother. I gave it a 6 because of the nudity and language. Take that out and I'd give it almost a solid 8 for being new.
The Walking Dead (2010)
So sponsor really pay to advertise on this crap?
The USA. Greatest country in the world A catastrophe happens. Guns in almost every home. Yet the Walking Dead is filled with absolutely the worst characters and are now down to covered wagons, bows and arrows and sticks. What drivel.
Do sponsors really pay advertising dollars to fund this? I stopped watching and saw this as I was flipping channels. I watched two episodes of this season and then shut it off. Mindless tv. Unbelievable characters.
Eugene, a lying sissy since day one, still there. A preacher who killed his flock and has more mental problems than everyone combined. Why wasn't he killed off? The guy is useless and he can't even act.
Negan LOL, enough said. Now we have some bald headed woman who commands the groups to do as she says. Are there no guns? No tractors? No cars? They all just simply vanished off the face of the earth? Bows and arrows? Really? This show is so wholly unbelievable that it made me wonder why I was even watching it. Luckily, I shut it off before I had to dumb down my IQ like the viewers who keep this show on the air.
Carol was the only decent character on their. Michone, worthless. All that on her shoulders and she can't move the camp to a big city where they can live in a 10 story building to be safe? They have to hunt deer? LOLOL.
Battle at Big Rock (2019)
As fake as django
Suddenly a child does something twice in succession without the strength to do so? LOL. What a flop. CGI was great but this short film was a total failure. Very bad casting made this laughable.
Once Upon a Time in... Hollywood (2019)
Borefest
Boring, boring, gone. Who is paying all these people to vote "10"? It's becoming incredulous that a movie comes out and within hours the 10 ratings come flying in. Someone must own a powerful voting bot.
This movie was going no where fast. Bad acting, bad dialogue. I'm about to give up on all movies and wait 10 yrs until they are shown on cable.
Spider-Man: Far from Home (2019)
Samuel Jackson contributes nothing.
Why do they bother to hire Samuel Jackson. He contributed nothing to Spiderman. He watched during both fights. He did nothing. He is a one trick pony actor. He acts the exact same in any movie he does. It's boring. I am not a fan of his and wonder why they hire him for a movie like this. He had dialogue only. No action, no helping out in a fight.
