The Handmaid's Tale: Mayday (2019)
Your girlfriend's a badass indeed
I love and find it interesting how this episode used scripture to combat the religious evil that is Gilead itself. June's line in the end and the imagery of them walking in the woods hand in hand, carrying bags and Rita carrying an infant reminded me that of the Israelites crossing the Red Sea with the help of Moses. In a way, June was like Moses. Damn, June.
Technicality 9/10
Writing 9.5/10
Performance 10/10 (the actress that plays Rita really stood out to me)
The Handmaid's Tale: Heroic (2019)
June's madness is justified
If you got bored or slow, I guess that's the point of this episode. We are in June's POV anyway thus we got to have an insight or slightly feel her way into madness. It's impossible for June to not get crazy for what she has been through. This is the episode where she snapped and I think this episode effectively portrays that. It's not always the content's job to entertain.
