The Order (2001)
The one where he plays a daddy's boy
That's really all I had to say about this one, other than the fact that it's kind of boring. The only interesting thing about this one was the fact that he says the word "dad" so many times. As he does that the dad looks at him as if to say, "ok son." Found that funny, but that was the only interesting part of this movie.
Universal Soldier (1992)
Jean Claude Van Damme meets the Terminator
That's basically what this one is. He and Dolph Lundgren play a soldiers turned robots. There are some laughs in this one, my favorite is the scene where he is at the diner. It's half comedy half action and one of his classic films.
Death Warrant (1990)
Decent Van Damme movie
I wouldn't put this one on the same level as Blood Sport and Lionheart, but it's not bad. I think if they had tried to keep it more realistic or more like Shawshank Redemption, but with fight scenes, it would have been a little better. The cheesiness is both good and bad in this one. Good because it adds to the classic feel of Van Dammes earlier movies, but bad because it kind of takes away some of the realism. For a movie about prison, it's not bad, but there are better prison movies out there. But if you're a Van Damme fan, watch it. It's decent.
Kickboxer (1989)
Classic Van Damme movie
Like Blood Sport, it has lots of cheesy characters and great fight scenes. If you are into 80's and 90's action films, you have to see this. Even if you aren't into those, I would still recommend watching it just because it's such a classic film. This is one of Van Damme's best. I would rank it just behind Lionheart and Blood Sport.
Cyborg (1989)
Cheesy 80's sci fi movie :-)
Haha, watch this if you need a laugh. Van Damme plays a cyborg who battles a bunch of evil cyborgs! My favorite character is the main villain. Cheesy movie but really good if you are into cheesy 80's movies and need a laugh.
Black Eagle (1988)
Needed more Van Damme
Was disappointed when I saw the film because Van Damme is on most of the covers and on some of them, he is the only character we see. He plays the bad guy though and is barely in the movie. The movie itself isn't horrible. It's just a generic 80's action film.
Bloodsport (1988)
Classic cheesy martial arts film :-)
I probably don't need to say it, but this movie is a classic. Cheesy dialogue, cheesy characters, cheesy story line, but it was cool that they actually based it on a true story. The characters and jokes are so bad they are actually good. The nerdy guy with the glasses is supposed to be a comic relief, and he is, but not because his jokes are funny but because they are so lame, and because of the fact that we were supposed to think he is funny. Cool fight scenes too. Almost forgot to mention, the soundtrack is awesome, especially that song that plays during the final fight scene. See it if you haven't. I'd rank this as Van Damme's 2nd best movie.
