While beautifully shot and having a star-studded cast, this adaptation is a sinking ship. I had not read the book, so I don't know if it differs, but I thought that tis film did not deliver on some thing. The main detective's back story and conclusion of his character arc. The actors didn't seem to have chemistry thoughout. But that's just me.

Fine for a deleted scene, but they didn't need this in an already 3 hour film. The making friends at the end of the film was good enough. Now I personally love Delete scenes and thought this was a great little kid bit to see before seeing the actual film.

After seeing this film in an actual theater with a young audience. I thought I would leave a simple review. Wonderful quality on digital character designs, as to say they didn't lower the quality from the first film. While the side story had me questioning the writing, I have to step back and say to myself that it's a kids film. Your kids should enjoy the sequel if they liked the original.

Rarely will I read reviews and never ever write them. The negative reviews here are way to harsh. As an independent film supporter, you have to realize not all films are back by a film studio. With the small number of crew members and with the incredible list of talent, I'd say this is a very good film. Well written and directed by DeHey in what looks like her first feature. Cheers.
