Exceptional indictment of US 'healthcare'
16 May 2021
This is not a funny comedy-drama. But it is definitely a strong indictment of the U. S. healthcare system, their hospitals and insurers, and Christianity versus morality. It is filled with strong character portrayals. I'm not sure if U. S. citizens can appreciate the poorness of their healthcare system as someone from a country without a universal system can, but this film illustrates some of the inherent failures of this country's 'healthcare' system.

Defied rules of horror
7 March 2021
Superbly-shot classic not only inspired Billy Idol's song of the same name, but completely defied the rules of horror. Gone are shock, vulgarity and screeching music in favour of emotion and disbelief.

Very unimpressed
14 February 2021
I gave this a four out of ten because it was mildly entertaining. But it Rips off a LOT from Full Metal Jacket, Platoon and Apocalypse Now. A LOT. Closing with Tom Waits' A Soldier's Things was one of the few highlights of this terribly overrated movie.

Weird Science meets Big Bang Theory
11 February 2021
Very odd, tongue in cheek flick that takes itself very lightly. Reminiscent of director Savage Steve Holland (Better Off Dead, One Crazy Summer), Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventu.re and Carlos Castaneda's book, A Separate Reality (lampooned in The Simpsons episode with Johnny Cash as the talking and tripping coyote). and Weird Science meets Big Bang Theory. Definite male teen sexual tone of Weird Science, Hardbodies, etc. So-so, but in my opinion, nut worth the 80+ minutes.

Amazing, cerebral film
10 February 2021
Without my repeating the plot, I will add to it. This is a very cerebral and surrealistic movie filled with metaphors, pop culture references and many examples of the Mandela Effect. Its unique and surreal plot reminded me of films such as Chasing Sleep, Waking the Dead, Sublime, Pi, The Little Bones, Pleasantville and Contact. Highly recommended film, one to which give one's full attention. My second time seeing it was even more eye (or mind) opening.

Disapp
25 January 2021
I read Jack London's book in grade 7, in about 1978, and found it great. Of course back then, Star Wars was one of the first movies with decent CG. I was disappointed to see that all scenes with the star, Buck, and most of the other dogs being CG. And also the use of humour which was not in play in the book. The excessive use of CG took away from the spirituality of the book and did it no justice. I felt like I was watching a Scooby-Doo movie.

8/10. Amazing story, acting and dialogue
25 June 2020
Amazing story, acting and dialogue. For the person who gave this a 1 of 10 and called it the worst movie they've ever seen, ... wow, you have no concept of film, dialogue, acting, plot, irony or cinematography. Go watch a movie. Stick with explosions and nudity, lots of CGE. Hopefully your popcorn was not as disappointing, or delusional.
