First I want to give a little of my background. I grew up in a special needs family my brother is profoundly deaf and my sister has CP. I was blessed with 3 of my 6 kids being autistic.
While we were watching the first episode my daughter kept joking that they must be following us around. This show captures the dynamics of a special needs family so well. From a mothers point of view always fighting for your kids. From a sisters point of view hating that everything has to include your sibling then feeling guilty about it.
I'm also an interpreter for the deaf so I understand slightly what is going on with the Voice of JJ. There is complex relationship between an interpreter and your clients.
It may seem that this is over the top it really not they just cut them together well.
