A guy's perspective....
31 May 2008
Well before giving my review, I just want to say that I'm straight! And I do like romantic comedies (as long as they're not excessively girly e.g. 13 going on 30!). So this is a straight guy's perspective and not a gay one who went to see the "fabulous" designs!

As a SATC fan, I really loved the movie, and I thought it DELIVERED! The acting was superb, the 4 main stories (each character having one) were very unique but yet very harmonious and WELL resolved. SJP's narration was – as always – v. deep and witty, Samantha remains to be the life of the party (by far the funniest and uninhibited), Charlotte: living in lala land but deadly sweet; and Miranda (my favorite) the most human and the warmest.

The movie can be described as a light hearted romantic comedy, with some "intense" scenes . I don't want to spoil the movie, but seriously guys… or gals… SJP's and Charlotte's performance in those "dramatic" scenes were Oscar worthy, dare I say! The only 2 things I didn't care for in the movie were a certain comment/joke about Mexico that I felt was borderline offensive (even though I'm not Latino or Mexican) and unnecessary (even though kinda funny); and the other thing was Samantha's fiancé. He was totally totally different from SATC the series, and his issue with Samantha was not very well resolved.

I thought the love scenes were too much and too crude! (They actually showed a guy's full frontal!!!). So if anyone's conservative… well you may want to watch the cut version! The movie deserves a solid 8.5/10, and is definitely worth the time and money! Oh and speaking about time, try not to over hydrate urselves cuz the movie is toooo long (2 h 15 m). You wouldn't want to miss a minute to go pee!

No physical comedy, no witty dialogue..... meh!
29 March 2008
I appreciate spoofs such as "Scary Movie" and "Not Another Teen Movie", but this one was just too corny.

It didn't have any physical comedy like Scary Movie (Wayans), nor did it have a smart/funny dialogue like Not Another Teen Movie. The acting was not bad, but they definitely needed physically funny people (Wayans, Jim Carrey, Jack Black...etc). The lead character was OK, but he's definitely not comedy material (especially that kinda comedy).

That being said, there were 3 or 4 scenes that were really funny and everyone in the theater was laughing. But that was it! If you still wanna go watch it, go with very low expectations. My problem is that i was expecting something like Scary Movie. I'd give it a 4.9/10

Mediocre, but fun to watch
5 May 2007
I don't know, i just felt that the 3rd part was the worst by far. It seemed to be targeted to teenagers. Even "the struggle lies within theme" was not properly executed. The movie had a lotttt of corny scenes.. I mean wut's up with the clapping thing? Every time spiderman appears in public or saves someone, people are just clapping idiotically! The drama acting of the main characters was very good, but I think the director couldn't meet our growing expectations (Since Spiderman 2 was a kick ass!!) So all in all, the movie is not that bad, but if you still wanna see it, just go with minimum expectations! Trust me!

A 70%Drama, 30% war movie..
25 December 2003
The movie was pretty nice. Overall i'd give it a 4/5. It's wroth mentioning though that this movie is not a "war" movie! In fact, 70% of the movie is Drama, and a little part (30%) is war. Some scenes were OBVIOUSLY fake (so the production was not "that" rich"), but again, the essence of the movie is worth watching. If you wanna see good water (storm) graphics, "The Perfect Storm" would be a better choice.

Cybill (1995–1998)

very warm and extremely funny!
8 December 2002
Now it's really a shame that they stopped producing "Cybill". It really was a one of a kind TV show. It was so warm (always brining up with mother-daughter funny fights), and extremely funny. Seriously although ALL episodes contained hilarious scenes, sometimes they'd just be really meaningful. Cybill plays a PERFECT mother, besides being so easy and natural. Also Mary-ann, Zoey, Jeff and Ira were all funny to a great extent. They perfectly matched their TV character. Does anybody know a petition thing or anything we can do, to let them reproduce the show?!

excellent but needs more romance
4 August 2001
Now, that was trully excellent. The plot was exciting (non predictable at all), screen effects are superb, and cast were carefully selected (especially aaliya and her father). Though it was clear that the movie needed more romantic scenes. I mean it was crystal clear that both, aaliya and jet lit had a crush on each other, but i can remember no scene were they said it, or even looked in the eyes!! i'd give it a 7/8 action and a 1/2 romance.

clever and hilarious!
14 July 2001
Simply, though cleverly, Reese Witherspoon, plays the role of the "non-serious" blonde, who went to Harvard specially to prove to her ex-boyfriend, that she is not dumb. The director shows in a more than one hilarious scene that blondies are not always dummies, yet sometimes there is a tongue in cheek discrimination! Still, I think the movie should contain more funny stuff. The whole idea is extremely funny, but the scenes were expected to be more in number.

now where were we? and what has happened?
1 July 2001
Besides the perfect performance of the cast (especially Guy Pearce and Carrie-Anne Moss) the movie had a new dazzling idea. It mostly was thrilling, though some scenes were really funny and hilarious. To be honest, for a normal person to understand the movie, he needs to watch it at least 3 times to get it! The director caught our attention by this continuous flash back style, but most of us failed to get it all! We all know that Guy was after the killer of his wife. That's all. I, myself don't know who killed her! But again i have to admit that the idea and direction of the movie was all new and that's why i'd give it an 8.5/10.
