Did we watch the same thing who did the negative comments?
14 December 2023
Warning: Spoilers
Some people forget that this is an art piece which have its own momentum. Not everything you watch should ''entertain'' you with lots of action and ''plot twists''. This is a great episode of the masterpiece like previous episode. As good as it gets, this is the best humans can produce. I don't understand the negative comments here. What were you expecting? Lots of stuff even happens in this episode.

Sound design, cinematography and acting is top notch as always.

I don't understand the criticism at all as a filmmaker myself. Chracther development and plot development is there, action is there. Not every episode should be a Hollywood thriller. No one can do that anyways.

This is the end of Nolan.
27 September 2023
I had one more chance for Nolan after the garbage Tenet. And i have none now. This movie shows you how money talks in Hollywood. There is nothing good about this movie, there isn't any theme or clear conflict of the plot even. Everything is mixed together in this bore- fest auto biographic film. Its scenes are ripped off from other films and this film pretends it is bigger than it is with its over the top sound design. I don't recommend anyone to waste their time and money to this.

No characther development, nothing you can relate. Soulless, passionless filmmaking. I couldn't believe what i was seeing.

Humane and genuine masterpiece in plain sight!
9 March 2023
I hope Marc Forster will direct similar movies like this in near future and returns back to his artistic roots.

This is my first time writing a review here, i have to say that this movie is one of my favourites of all time.

It is a deeply empathetic movie. Albeit others state when it comes to ''analysing'' movies, you don't have to analyse this one while watching it.

The emotional and atmospheric world it presents is enough for you to experience an intense and fulfilling experience. This movie dives deep into human psyche and it explores how human brain works and deals with emotions.

The characther Henry Letham, portrayed masterfully by Ryan Gosling, surely represents the director of this movie: Marc Forster.

Coming to L. A from Switzerland at young age, in hopes to be a filmmaker, Henry Letham, the suffering but promising painter, represents Marc's meta commentary on his own artistic journey as a filmmaker. It is a very personal movie, yet, a very universal and genuine one.

With human suffering and tragedy, art is the strongest force that binds us together with its cathartic healing powers. And this movie gives a very deep exploration about this topic. It is a story about an artist, and how his mind creates an another alternative dream state (another creative process), while trying to hold on to life... as wel all do in our lives as human beings.

This movie investigates how art connects people together, how people respond to trauma, depression and fear... and how human mind works deep inside its subconscious.

The plot is actually simple, yet filled with details; however, you don't have to catch any of those details and analyse the movie as if it is a mathematical problem.

No, you just have to simply turn on your emotional side ON, and go with the flow. See how the movie unfolds and how it loves it characthers and respects its viewers.

Apart from that, the cinematography, the editing of the scenes and transitions, sound design, sound mixing, production design, art design, visually creative special effects and many other aspects are masterfully done.

A surreal, dreamy and authentic film that deserves much more respect!

If you read this by any chance, i hope you will make an another movie like this Mr. Marc Forster!

Thank you for the cathartic tears i shed in the end of the film. This movie resonates deeply with me as a wanna be artist and filmmaker.

This movie will STAY forever in my heart.
