I Adore This Film
30 November 2020
This is one of my favorite movies of all time. It's so original and beautiful. The acting is peerless. I honestly believe Maribel Verdu should have won an Oscar for her stunning performance. And Gael and Diego are right up there with her. All three of them become the characters. And the script is superb.

Really Bad, Corny Writing
29 November 2020
It's frustrating to watch something this bad when they had so much talent to work with. The actors are all capable of much better work. The script is really bad and predictable, and the director(s) let the cast get away with lazy, boring performances. The story is beyond lame and frankly not believable. It's like a goody goody Hallmark movie meets an embarrassingly bad soap opera.

I'm Dying Up Here (2017–2018)

Such a good show (spoiler alert)

Warning: Spoilers
(Contains spoiler)

I love the show. I admit it took me a couple of episodes to get into it. But episode #3 sealed the deal for me. The Judy Gold character was really great, and the final scene where Sully gets his hair and beard cut so he can get the salesman job was just heartbreaking. Watching someone give up their dream is really painful.

I think viewers who are expecting this to be a hilarious show because it's about comedians are missing the big picture. It's not really a comedy per se. I know a few comedians and I can tell you their lives aren't necessarily funny. If anything, they're rife with sadness.

Who cares if they get every little detail about comedy in the 70s 100% accurate. It's a really well-written and well-acted show. I'm looking forward to more episodes.
