The Trip (2021)

Entertaining indeed!
17 October 2021
Remarkably good in all honesty! I thought at first it was just going to be one of those foolish foreign movies that go just about nowhere. The beginning parts seemed slow at first and I was kinda tempted to switch to another movie, but just manage to go through the talk stuff and the novia is truly worth watching until the end.

It had the right amount of action, gore and squeezed in bits of comedy as well. The story was funny and entertaining and will get you wired up with the action too. I wanted to give it a full perfect rating, but like I said it was kind of a drag in the beginning.

Good enough
5 October 2021
I didn't actually know that a movie like this came out. So I was thinking it could have been a flop. But this was a really good horror movie and I like horror movies that carry different stories in it.

Although some of the plots and actors may feel B-movie like, it was entertaining just the same. It could have added a bit more substance to it though since some parts were too common. Gore-wise it was sufficient and the movie itself wasn't exactly a waste of time.

Maybe that's why it didn't create much of an impact to the horror world.

Too long
5 October 2021
I enjoyed watching this movie since I've missed seeing Ryan Reynolds and I've always liked him. There was his usual comedy stints but I can't help but feel that he's still portraying Dead Pool in one scene or another.

The story was okay and I think most millenial gamers can relate to it. Since I'm not a gamer, there were a few instances that I kinda felt lost. The 2 hour movie was a bit lengthy but a chunk of it was funny and entertaining. The story was just something I wouldn't wanna watch over and over again.

But like I said, it was fun watching Ryan Reynolds, Dead Pool or Free Guy.

Two thumbs up!

I don't even remember how many times this series made me cry althroughout watching it. It still amazes me how these Koreans can always come up with a good story, and how they make us learn to like and love the characters that they introduce.

The story is unique and injected with the right amount of comedy and drama. Although I'm not exactly a big fan of Ji-eun Lee, she seemed adequate enough to play the lead role. Overall the other characters were fit for their roles which made the entire series worth watching.

I do hope they release a Season 2.

Worth it because of Jake Gyllenhaal
5 October 2021
I was expecting a bit more from this movie but I guess the creators chose a different path to deliver the viewers a unique way of action. The synopsis said it all and I was waiting for car scenes and running and gunshots and all. But none of that apparently.

The story wasn't anything out of the unusual, somehow predictable by the mid part. I believe Jake Gyllenhaal was the main essence of this movie and his acting was brilliant, nothing compared to how he did things when he was younger. This is a one man movie but still he was able to manifest an environment as if all other characters were there on screen.

I think that alone is a good enough reason to watch this movie. But other than that, honestly it was blah.

Fairly okay

It's becoming actually a trend how suspense movies can now be more twisted and riveting. We are no longer engulfed in the used-to-be stories and it's good how writers are more capable of making all these movies definitely interesting.

This movie for example may seem a bit calculable but it was a good storyline still. Acting was okay and although the action didn't go as far as anyone can expect, it was somehow a good movie for me. It could have worked up a bit with a little added suspense here and there, but overall it wasn't so bad.

Seriously?!?
24 September 2021
Oh my goodness. Seriously I don't even know why I bother making a review for this movie. But for the sake of everyone who is looking for a good thriller to watch, I'd say don't be fooled by the description of this movie. And just run..far away from clicking the play button.

There was a plot. But there was no action, no direction, and people talked a lot during the movie that it got me bored as soon as I started. They could have done better with a good storyline like that. But no, you'll just end up wasting your time watching a movie that went nowhere.

Was alright. Funny enough.

This was a fun movie to watch, especially if you grew up in an era with these women who starred in those rampant TF movies. For a change it was good seeing them in a movie that don't require them to bare it all.

A good comedy to watch but only for adults, and maybe for the titas and titos alike as there are some scenes that many of our millennials won't be able to relate to. Don't worry it wasn't all laughs and stuff, because they managed to squeeze in some moral to the story by the end.

And yeah, I did laugh at most parts though.

Squid Game (2021– )

Awesome..Loved it!
22 September 2021
I'm sure by this time most of you have seen this series and I'm glad to have watched it as well the minute it came out in Netflix. For those who haven't, there are a lot of memes and clips showcased in FB and Tiktok..and in all honesty watching this is an absolute treat.

We are all aware by now how Koreans can leave us in awe when it comes to the series or movies that they create. And Squid Game is an interesting and unique concept, something that left me fascinated until the end. Some may think that it is just a series with gruesome games involved, but frankly that is the part which makes it exciting like hell.

Short but sweet as it only contained 9 episodes, and although the ending will keep us curious and wanting for more, it's enough for me to understand the plot and message it meant to deliver.

Would you want a Season 2? I know I would.

Unique story
19 September 2021
Honestly I did wait for this movie to come out as the trailer itself was pretty enticing. And watching it finally last night, I'd say that this movie I can consider as one of the best ones for this year.

Acting and cinematography were good no doubt about that. And the story itself was unique and very nicely delivered. You might actually wonder at what point as to where the plot was going to with all of them getting old at such a short time span. But the explanation was carefully brought out in the end, allowing the entire movie to definitely be worth the wait.

And worth watching..even for a second or third time.

Good job on this M. Night Shyamalan!

Annoying Villain
17 September 2021
This movie isn't much to rant or rave about. Although as popular as it is now regarding movies that involved people with social media obsessions, this one has a creative flair to boot. I was looking for more creepier stuff though but there wasn't enough. And some of it already too predictable.

It was alright and the villain is too annoying that I would have wanted to rid of her myself. Pretty good acting on that one. Again the story may have been creatively drafted but the creators could have added more in the creepy criteria.

They had some potential on that but failed to fully take advantage of it.

Good to watch with the kids
16 September 2021
A good horror movie to watch with the kids. It wasn't too scary nor too lame even for older children to sit down on and appreciate. For an adult alone, well that's the a whole different scenario as I was kinda bored in some parts, waiting for some real action to begin.

But the story and actors were altogether fun to watch. There was a uniqueness in the plot that will leave your kids in awe and would probably stay focused on the tv and not the snacks alone.

Kristen Ritter doesn't seem to have aged, suitable for her being a witch in this movie.

Work of Art
15 September 2021
It definitely has been awhile since James Wan came out with a good horror movie and this one is a good way to boast his conquest. He has outdone himself with brewing something as different as Malignant, and at the same time still carrying the scare fest we've all come to love with his horror movies.

I was skeptical at the beginning and there were some confusing loops that may leave you wary. However it did have that mystery we are all wanting and the creepiness hits off right at the spot.

Truly worthy of all the praise. Good job on this one again Sir!

Ho-hum...could be better
15 September 2021
This movie actually went for a good start. The story built itself quite well and Victoria Justice was able to justify the role she was in. It did got me interested at the beginning but eventually at the middle part things just got a bit sluggish and boring.

For a chick flick and probably during a Saturday while you're doing chores or cross stitching, this is the kind of movie you can set your smart TV on. It doesn't have much of a conflict, and the story is too simple you'd probably get the ending just by reading the synopsis. And sadly at some point, it was kinda corny too.

Thankfully there was a meaningful message at the end that sums up the entire thing.

Yawn
15 September 2021
A lot of bad things happen in the woods and I thought for a moment that this was going to be one of those movies. But again, I slept through most of this one, and even if I dozed off several times, a lot of things still didn't happen.

Although some of the acting was also amateur, the cinematography and production of the movie itself was good enough for it to not be considered as a B movie. What lacked was the action that everyone expected from the built up in the beginning of it. And it was then at the ending where one will realize that there wasn't much to look forward to.

Don't be fooled by the title and the poster.

Tremendous Action
9 October 2019
A hurricane hits this small Florida hometown and causes all the alligators to come out and cause havoc. Haley (Scodelario) unreluctantly returns to their old house in search of her father (Pepper). With the water flooding them both in, they fight to survive against the alligators from hell.

Surprisingly not a B movie here, CGI of the alligators were carefully crafted the storyline projected quite a scary scenario. It's like watching Jaws from when you were a kid and seeing this movie you'd be scared of seeing any forms of water again.

Although the hero and heroine of this movie are probably immortal Gods that seemed to survive any loss of blood from being viciously attacked by the gators, it was an exciting movie all in all.

Oh and kudos to the Director of this movie, the pet dog survived every inch of the disaster and did not have even one single scratch from the alligators. Yey! It was a good one indeed!

Round and Round in Circles..literally.
9 October 2019
I thought for a moment that this movie will have me creeped out by the end of it but apparently all it left me was a big question mark. Stephen King is one of my favorite horror novelists but his work on this one was one of the weirdest I've seen.

Well as it happened, a brother and sister were on their way to California, and stopped over on the side of a field because the pregnant sister got nauseous. Then they hear a cry of help from a boy in the fields and decided to put their noses in and help. And now they're lost.

And in the fields where time is of no essence, a bunch of nosy people start getting lost and apparently die. There's a possessed father who killed his wife, a kid who lures them all in, and that weird rock that seem to consume everybody. Oh my goodness.

One of my favorite parts though was when the brother and sister asked each other to jump to see where they both were. They jumped one first time and they were within an arm's reach but when they jumped a second time, they were like moving so fast away from each other. WTF?? Now that was creepy.

At the end of the movie, i was still at a loss. And then I remembered how the hype was with Bird Box. It was a good concept, scary storyline if I say so myself, creepy turnabout of events, but where thr hell is the monster???

Amazing till the end!
9 October 2019
This movie is definitely all about the twists and turns, and I ignored it before in Netflix despite it being categorized under Thriller, I'm glad to have watched it finally. Because this one is awesome!

The beginning would have you thinking what storyline it will be climaxing to, whether it be sci-fi, horror or mystery. You would have to watch it yourself as I do not intend to ruin the thrill.

All I can say that this is one of the best gore, suspense movies I've seen so far. Definitely worth watching! Truly the perfection indeed!
