Significant Other (2023)

Not that good

I wanted to watch this after seeing the ads for it It looked like it will be funny and good.

But it turned out to be so bland , slow paced With a depressing script and no real emotion or character connection or chemistry .

I did try to watch as many episodes as I could But gave up after ep 3 I think .

I'm not interested in watching the rest because like I said it was boring. Slow and made me feel depressed . The story is based around two characters with their back sad stories It sees them meeting as one is trying to kill himself the other is having a heart attack. Fun not.

If you're feeling down then don't watch This as it will make you feel worse .

The Change (2023– )

Great new series

I watched this over two days. I really enjoyed watching the story develop to see what happens to the quirky village folk.

This series is funny, witty , well written and acted .

I love the portrayal of the leading lady of a menopausal mum of two and married with a husband . I laughed at the scene at the doctors It's so true . What the woman is going through wanting to find herself get a way from life .

I think any woman going through the menopause Will totally love this series .

I found it refreshing and enjoyable to watch . Just a shame that there's not any more series. As it only had 6 episodes feel they need to Make series 2.

Maryland (2023)

Bit bland

I was looking forward to watching this series But was left disappointed .

Not being funny but I thought the older sister was the mother . When I watched the trailer for the series it looked to me like the older sister was the ghost of her mum .

When I started to watch the series it became blander and disappointing with the lack of thrill and story plot to this series . The acting wasn't good and there really wasn't much story . You could guess the dad was aware of the mums double life . The two sister just didn't gel enough for me .

And Stockard Channing character just didn't fit in .

This series could have been so much more with a more thrilling script .

Sorry to say , the ending was a big let down. I was hoping for some sort of twist or something to lift the last episode but no.

Kind of sorry I wasted my time watching this .

Kevin & Perry Go Large (2000)

Watched first time round

Can't believe it's been 23years Since this film came out . Enjoyed it then and still enjoy watching now . It makes me laugh. It's light hearted you actually feel sorry for the boys after Eye Ball Paul is horrible towards them.

The story is simple but effective.

The actors all play their parts well. I loved the soundtrack some scenes were a bit gross but that part of the film.

It's a funny look at teens and their relationship in life I watched this 20 years ago although my kids didn't really like it. But I still don't mind the crudeness you have to have a sense of humour whilst watching this film.

If you're fans of the series you'll enjoy the film.

Aftermath (IV) (2021)

This film has got a lot of suspense. Lots of dark eerie moments, with the score making it even more scary.

The story is based on real events, but how much is added on we don't know.

The acting isn't that good, especially the leading lady her acting is awful. The film is scary, you try to guess what's going on. What's going on, ?is the house haunted, ?is her boyfriend behind the scary things going on?

I did watch it to the end, there are some bits of the film. Where you think , really! Why didn't she phone the police? Or run out of the house, instead of running back upstairs. Nobody even noticed that her sister had disappeared.

There's lots going on in the couples life she's had an affair, and he's jealous of the other guy. They are having therapy , but, then decide to go ahead against her wishes , to buy a house in which there was a brutal murder and suicide.

Why would you even do this?

Poor woman had to suffer in that house, while her boyfriend seems to get off lightly. Strange thing happen, like porn mags sent to the house, people bomb their car, but the police are abit Blasé about all he complaints of the going on in the house, so that is a bit silly.

Anyway, the film, is watchable, if a bit long, and it is scary. I'm glad I watched during the day.

The Body (II) (2019)

I've read some of the negative reviews, and I don't agree with them I haven't seen the original film, but that is just aswell , otherwise I'd be comparing this to it.

I thought this was a good film, good acting and good direction. Full of suspense, and some scary moments. I enjoyed That it's not the usual style of Bollywood films. Only downside was the insertion of some slow moody songs, which were not needed, as it distracted the flow of the suspense.

Deadly Illusions (2021)

This movie goes nowhere

So I just watched this film, I found it to be excruciatingly slow, the story is about this author who hires a nanny to look after her kids. But the film goes in and out of so called weird dream squences, where there's lots of steamy sexy scenes between the author and the nanny Grace. Who is Grace? And what's her background.?Mary the author finally gets over her writers block and begins to write her book. Some parts of this film reminded me of The Hand That Rocks The Cradle. Sadly, there's no real substance in this film to really gather momentum or the viewers attention. The only time it got abit interesting was after Elaine , Mary's best friend was murdered. The story and acting picks up a little then. Overall, this film was too long, when it didn't need to be. The acting wasn't all that good either, the plot was way too over stretched and the story line and script was quite boring. I think maybe this film tried to use too many ideas and story lines, that ruined it. Like other reviews parts of the story resembled other films. I don't know why Netflix gave it so many stars. This film is silly and a waste of good actor time. Physco nanny and silly plot.

Bombay Begums (2021– )

I came across this series on Netflix. About five different women from various walks of life and social ladder. How they try to make a better life for themselves, they are bought together via different situations. There's a prositute who trying to make s better life for her son. There's affairs, and corruption, there's lots of extra marital sex, because the women's relationships with their husbands are not working, for what ever reasons. There's blackmail, there's a young girls story too, she's loves a boy in her class, leading her to act like she's older to try to impress the boy, this ends in Disaster. A CEO who is denying the fact that she's going through menopause, and is trying to act strong in front of her male colleagues, b cause if they see he as a weak woman she'll lose her job. There's lots of cover ups for bribery in the banking world. Lots of secrets exposed. They look at sexual assault the work place. Etc etc., Definitely this series has it all, oh and I forgot even some lesbianism thrown in for good measure . Contrary to the other reviews, I actually enjoyed the six episodes . and,they left it with a cliffhanger. I can't wait to see if there's series two . I think they could have done with not so many sex scenes though. But generally it is s good watch. Women trying to make it in s mans world , encountering male shauvanisim in their way.

Coming 2 America (2021)

Enjoyable

Just watched this film, could not wait for it to come out, The film was good enough, lots of music and pagentery, with some special guest singers, Akeem goes to find his son, then the story is about what happens to them. The film is good enough, there were some slow parts, its over all watchable and fun to see all the flash backs from the first film and good to see that they bought back Sexy Chocolate, and all the old characters.

Just Like Heaven (2005)

Enjoyable movie

Watched this film a few years ago, and again last night, it is a really nice enjoyable film. Starring Mark and Reese , the movie sees the couple meet when he rents her apartment. The characters soon discover that she is kind of a house ghost, but as we discover throughout the film, there is more to it than that. Romantic and moving film, will tug at your emotions, definitely worth a watch.

Nobody's Fool (2018)

Utter waste of time

Watched this live thought it was going to be a good one. But it was really crap. Bad direction, bad script, and very bad acting. The only saving grace was the very hot coffee guy, and the scenes where legend Whoppie Goldberg was in . Tiffany Haddish acting was over the top and it seemed at times that there was no need for her to over react to everything her sister did. The actress who plays the posher stuffy stuck up sister, was awful, there was no expression or feeling in her acting st all. She was so wooden in all her scenes even when she found out she was been catfished there was no emotion. This film on the whole is a bad movie, bad acting, and waste of times

I watched this film last night, it was brilliant. Very sad to find out that the main actress has died. The story of rape and revenge. The justice system lets the victim down, its very sad but happens all to often in real life, (as I went through this sort of thing with my own daughter a few years ago, luckily justice was done in my case. ) The story follows the family of the victim, how they handle the fall out of their child being raped,and how the mother goes out to get her own justice. The film is brilliantly directed, the acting is good in all parts. Although I think that a woman going out and seeking vengeance is not a thing that happens in reality, or would happen. But it shows the length a mother or parent might go to seek justice for their child. Very subtly filmed- where you know the girl is being assaulted but they don't show it. Once again this is a very good film, with great acting.

You Don't Mess with the Zohan (2008)

Loved watching this very funny film, Yes it is political, yes there are some crude scenes where he keeps making out with the older women, but take it with a pinch of salt, and enjoy the laughs. I have watched it a few times and never get bored. Great watch.

I found this film over rated. The acting was so bad, especially Helen Hunts, the story in it self would have better if there was a better script and direction, Honestly the acting was so bad and you all got from this movie was over hyped suspense and tense backgroun music. Other than that there was no point to this stupid film. Don't waste your time on it.

Dark Chocolate (2016)

Confusing - ridiculous

I watched this film without any knowledge of the true story part of it. Anyway, I found this film very confusing, it's goes back and forth so many times, it gets silly, there's so many different twists in the characters stories, that it all just becomes a bit ridiculous. There's seems to be a lot of incestial rape in this film, each person tells a different story to the police to clear their own names, that the whole premise of the film is ruined. To be honest don't waste your time on this film.

Karthik Calling Karthik (2010)

Excellent movie

This is a psychological film filled with suspense and a story that will keep you gripped intensely, you won't even notice it 2hrs long. This film plays with your mind, you'll find yourself guessing whom it is that keeps phoning Karhtik. The film is very good filled with a few twists and turns to the plot, acting is superb from all the cast. Everything about this film is brilliantly produced, directed and acted. Watch it now.

Mrs. Serial Killer (2020)

Not that bad really

I don't think this film deserves such low marks as 1/10, like the other reviewers. It's an ok film. Ok the cheesy acting is a bit annoying, it has a decent story which is easy to follow and actually the story line kept me gripped to see what Mrs Killer would try next, from Karate fighting with that poor girl, throwing each other around, was something new I've seen in an Indian film. The plot is believable, she wants to free her husband, as she believes he didn't kill all those poor pregnant girls. It has a few twists, especially at the end. If anything this could be called a 'B' movie, did not know any of the cast, but with the script they were given I think they did the best they could. There is a lot of swearing in this film especially the F word, there is lots of gore and killing,fighting, and decapidated bodies. It has slight suspense, and is a little scary In parts, especially with the eerie background music they play throughout the film to add a bit of suspense . Generally, it's a watchable film, but Mrs killer's acting was the weakest compared to the other cast members. I gave a fair 5/10 as at least it watchable. Unlike some other films I've tried to watch.

Heroine (2012)

Not a disappointment

Just finished watching this film, I don't agree with the rest of the reviews on here, I thought this was a good film, and bought to light the pressures that Bollywood or Hollywood actors have in life to maintain their star status. I found this film very moving, as I remember some of the legends of Bollywood actors like Parveen Babe who died alone, and Zenat Aman, who was beaten and abused at the hands of men. It's very hard to find good roles and maintain youthful looks in the Industry that is predominately run by men, especially men who take Advantage of a lead actress for their own evil uses This story looks at the leading lady who struggles with the harsh reality of keeping up her fame in the film industry, the harsh truths of the jealousy and back stabbing, the struggle of mental health ,drinks,drugs, to ease the pain. Broken relationships, and loneliness. kareena Kapoor acting was really good, I thought she did a good job, believable acting, I felt so sorry for her character, she only has two people who really care for her, her mum and her manager, but even they can't talk her into seeking help, very sad in parts, and she protrays them well. I enjoyed this film, ignore the other crappy reviews, watch it and see for yourselves. A very good insight into the film world of BOLLYWOOD, And the back stage drama and realism that goes into being an actor. I enjoyed it.

Talaash: The Answer Lies Within (2012)

Amazing lovely film

Just finished watching this lovely film. The acting was brilliant ,I liked Kareena Kapoor's acting although admittedly she mostly walked around everywhere, the story kept you gripped, the sadness of the police inspector losing his son few years back and still carries the guilt with him thus affecting his marriage life to Rani, you have the action, the Melodrama, the plot, and not to mention the most beautiful songs accompanying the movie. The songs flowed along side the appropriate scenes. The story looks at crime in the world of prostitution, and the sadness of grief and loss of a child. There is much more to this film, but I can't give a anything away, watch for yourselves, a truly lovely film.

Hi just finished this movie, OMG talk about twists in the plot. At every corner there is a new twist, so there' not much point guessing what's going to happen next, on the whole a good but a little cheesy In parts, but I enjoyed it nevertheless. Good acting from all involved I this movie and good direction. Goi g to watch Race 2 now

Wakes up and is all of a sudden beautiful etc., This film is a bit of a fantasy, but it really shows be yourself, as sometimes the grass is not always greener. Being popular isn't always a good thing especially when she upsets her best friends. It's a ok film, easy to watch, and not too long,

Watched this movie with my daughter, I enjoyed it, I love Wanda Skyes, I thought Goldie Hawn was brilliant in this, and I loved Jeffery the son, with his "ma-ma". But I can't believe that the consulate didn't help them, and that Amy's character couldnt see the danger she was letting her self into by going off with this bloke, In reality if that had happened to two women, they would have never been seen again. However, it is a funny film, worth a watch.

Hi just watched this movie, I loved it, its a bit long, but the story line is good, lots of good songs and musical numbers. Ok, so the accents are a bit hit and miss at times, but it's tongue in cheek, so don't take it too seriously. Likeable characters, and good acting. I enjoyed it.
