You (2018)
Season 4 has completely ruined this great show!
Loved seasons 1, 2 & 3. Season 4 we were so excited for, not knowing what to expect....we are at episode 3 and we cannot watch any further. It is DREADFUL. I don't know if it is the British inclusion or the whole rich people arrogance that is everywhere, but we just cannot watch this another minute. There is no excitement in what is happening, the pursuit of his love interest completely is a train wreck after wher that was left in season 3....this season could have been something brilliant, but for whatever reason they decided to completely butcher it. It truly is sad they chose to destroy this show with season 4 after how good the first 3 seasons were. Tragic really!
Mayor of Kingstown (2021)
Sensational!
I can honestly say that there has been only 2 times previous that I have been completely drawn in to a series. Breaking Bad, which did actually take an entire season for it to grab hold of me and become enthralled in it.....and the second was Succession which I was instantly hooked on after the second episode.
Mayor Of Kingstown grabbed me from the first 5 minutes and did not let go. This show pulls you in instantly. The cast is convincing. There is a lot going on, but not hard to follow. The story is not exaggerated beyond belief. You cannot help but absolutely root for Mike (Jeremy Renner) in everything he does, be it good or bad as he is always trying to do the right thing regardless of it not always being the case.
If you are thinking of watching this, have had a recommendation from a friend or family member or are a Jeremy Renner fan.... THIS IS A MUST WATCH!
You will not be disappointed and you will be left asking for more.
Queen of the South (2016)
It's OK, lame at times but mostly repetitive with every season.
First season was OK.....2nd was the same scenes and story from the first. 3rd season basically the second season with more dodgy acting just different backdrops.
Dexter: New Blood (2021)
Soooooooo Bad!
I was a Dexterholic! Season 1 through to 7 were just simply amazing.....season 8 was disappointing but it wasn't as bad as this abomination is! This tries way too hard. It does not have the same feel to it as the original. I watched 5 episodes last night, looked at the wife and said I really cannot watch anymore it is that unbearable! Truly heartbreaking as when I heard the news it was coming back I was almost jumping out of my skin. Probably best to accept that Dexter finished at season 8 and stayed finished as this is unsalvagable.
Martha Marcy May Marlene (2011)
Ummmmmmm.....wtf?
Seriously, what was that ending? This had so much promise and it all of a sudden was over leaving us sitting and looking at each other saying is that it, really?!?! So disappointing as it was enjoyable up until the ending.
Nine Perfect Strangers (2021)
What did I just watch?!?!
This show starts out OK and keeps you intrigued.....to read the reviews along the way to be informed that everything will all make sense at the end goes a little further in keeping you confident that everything will come together with an explanation by the last episode....to then get to the final episode, I am more lost than I was at the beginning. This show makes stuff all sense and I have no idea wtf it meant after watch the entire series without disruption.
Those Who Wish Me Dead (2021)
Pathetic
Just to point out a few really BAD things in this cliche cop-out.....
So two guys who are going around knocking off certain people as some sort of cover up kill a couple and blow up their house.....they blow up the house and walk out the front door, rich area and surrounding house everywhere and not one of those well financed neighbours has a security camera?! OK then.
Next, in a power move that can only happen in a big named action movie, Angelina standing on the veranda of her fire tower in the middle of the Forrest, sees some lightening strikes and pre-empts a lightening bolt hitting the tower at the exact time she decides its a great idea to jump off the side. OK then.
Then, from that jump she falls 30 feet flat onto her back and does not have a scratch, broken bone, internal bleeding or and form of loss of breath from being winded......OK THEN!
There are your first 3 disgraceful cringworthy predictable scenes that come from the rubbish that is served up in this day and age of cinematic experiences.
Watch at your own risk but you've been warned!
Heat (1995)
If you gave this anything less than a 10, then you are not worthy of the 3 hours it hands you!
There is nothing I need to say other than this......Nothing, and I mean NOTHING will ever get near this film! Hands down the greatest movie ever made. PERIOD!
Saw it in goldclass when it was released back in 95, I have honestly seen it 500 times since. Will never get sick of it!
A Quiet Place Part II (2020)
Dreadful!
This is just BAD! It is slow, there is around 5 minutes total of dialogue, the story makes very little sense.....pretty sure it's the same film as the first one, but just a couple of new faces and shot in different sceneries, in all honesty I cannot say I have seen anything this boring and bad since scary movie 4 which I walked out of the cinema 30 minutes into....the 2 things that kept me watching this garbage until the end was my missus was with me and I didn't want to leave her on her own and I was waiting for something to actually happen! Dare say there will be a 3 part to this but my God I will not be going near it. For those considering watching this, trust me if you have seen the first movie, then you've seen this! STAY AWAY FOR THE LOVE OF GOD!
Orange Is the New Brown (2018)
WOW......Somebody pour acid in my eyes!
Whomever created this......if they still have a career in TV entertainment it would be a deadset miracle. I read the reviews before watching and this show has been annihilated. I still gave it a chance though.....my God I should have trusted the reviews. This is pathetic! I didn't even manage half a chuckle. You know that embarrassing feeling you get when watching something you wish you weren't watching? Well, my head was burning up with embarrassment that I felt career's ending with every scene. The cast, usually standouts in Australian TV.... I do not understand why you would agree to being in this train wreck unless you were trying to ruin your own career. Trust me on this.... STAY AWAY!
The Rental (2020)
Why?
I was actually in to this movie......and then a ridiculous ending happened! Firstly from the silhouette of the killer and the dog showing up after being missing, My first thought was it was the insecure brother who was the killer....but then thought about it that didn't make sense because he was killed himself! Then as they showed him continuing on I thought it's OK they will show him shortly......and that never happened! All up a ridiculous movie as a result of a pointless ending, which is a shame to say as this could have been something great!
Mortal Kombat (2021)
A big letdown!
I guess being a Mortal Kombat fan since it's very first game release in the early 90s and following its storyline with every game release since put me in steed to have very high expectations....and I have no doubt that other out there in the same boat would agree. And with the first 7 minutes of the movie release 2 days ago, all I can say is I was overwhelmingly PUMPED! I just left the cinema and feel really deflated. It's all down hill after that first 7 minutes.....well not all actually, as Kano steals this movie! Kano's dialogue is hilarious and it is delivered in hysterical fashion. Apart from that as an upside, there is nothing that stands out to grab you in a way that excites you from a character perspective, nor in regards to action. If you are a Scorpion fan and are going based on that alone, then wow you are going to be really disappointed...you see Scorpion for a combined total of 13 minutes in the entire movie! My advice, base the next movie off the script of Rebirth. That looked great and different but at the same time very promising......
Succession (2018)
Seen a lot of masterpieces in my lifetime....but this is just, words cannot describe!
I will start by saying that I find it hard to believe that a series will ever come close to this amazing, flawless and brilliant series. The cast is outstanding and I mean every single one of them! Roman Roy play by Kieran Culkin absolutely steals this show, and is closely followed by Tom Wombsgan played by Matthew McFayden. The power struggles are endless, the need to win over their father, Logan Roy played by Brian Cox, is relentless, the very unusual sexually driven but no contact relationship between the much older Gerri and Roman which as odd as it seems, it's hilarious and you want to see more!
Anyone contemplating watching, don't contemplating...WATCH IT NOW! It will blow you away and you will not stop until you have finished it, and even then you will be begging for the next season!
Them (2021)
Started ok, became slow and strange...
There is a lot happening in this show. It starts well and is easy to follow....but as it moves forward it is very difficult to make sense of what is actually happening. By the end of it we found ourselves asking "what did it all mean"? One scene can be broken up into 2 or 3 timelines or universes. It's extremely choppy which makes it difficult to assess and make any sense of. It extremely disappointing as the trailer looked fantastic. Watch it and make up your own mind. Ultimately it was a massive let down after such high expectations.
