Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith (2005)
Acting makes Movies: not Action
Episode III of the incredible Star Wars series is best summed up as a "bad film with dazzling special effects".
If you watch the movie, the action sequences are phenomenal. The lightsaber fights look so real, that at some points, you think you might actually be there. And the battles are so gigantic, that you sit in awe.
However, a movie with awesome potential can often be sunken by terrible acting. With the exception of Ewan McGregor pulling off a dazzling job as Obi Wan Kenobi, most of the acting in the movie leads to the downfall of the film.
Anakin Skywalker's "turn to the dark side" makes you laugh more often than it makes you sit in interest. The acting is so bad, that when Padme and Anakin exchange a few words, I actually was laughing onto the floor, nearly chocking on the popcorn I was eating. Anakin, along with Padme, make this movie a rather dull film, instead of the exciting upbeat action-filled film it should've been. And when the hyped up "turn to the dark-side" actually occurs, one of the largest marketing ideas for this movie, you sit there waiting, only to find that it is... disappointing.
If only Lucas got better actors, this movie might've been so much better. Instead, it's one of the largest disappointments of our time.
Police Academy 6: City Under Siege (1989)
A Horrid Nightmare
Have you ever woken up at night, dreaming of that awful movie that you've seen? Police Academy 6 is so bad, that you would rather vomit the contents of your stomach than watch the movie. The plot is so un-connected, and the movie so ridiculously unfunny, it makes you cringe.
Was there a plot? A story? Anything even like that? Well, yes there was. Three guys, considered a "gang", somehow manage to take over some underground tunnels, and strike out on this bus route. They also somehow manage to get dynamite enough to obliterate a power plant. Three men. And they also manage to fend off police for the hours you watch this movie in utterly boring fashion.
The humor was bad. Bad enough that I just sat there throughout the movie just staring at the screen. No laughs. No giggles. Just looking at the screen. Wasn't this movie a comedy? The jokes were all bad, and the actors really didn't care. I mean, anything from the police officers rapping to a super-strong guy making a bad joke about "Boo who", this movie's jokes are really sub-par.
Just, don't watch it. Many movies should just be avoided - unless you're looking for a night of pure boredom, this movie isn't for you.
