Jat go zi tau di daan sang (1997)
Cant stop laughing
I don't remember how many times I had watched this movie, damn, it's just so good.
Now you are at the intersection of your life, you have two choices: go north to mainland China, south to Taiwan. Instead of focusing on one choice, the director rolled out two. The stark contrast of the fates is really fascinating.
And more, the Cantonese always tickled me
Lan (2009)
a touching movie
I never expected it was directed by Wenli jiang, a famous actress in china. And as her first movie, it was really impressive. The storyline is kind of average, and you may find it nothing to write home about at first sight. But if you view it from another perspective, you'll see the beauty of this movie.
firstly, the details should merit much attention. when I saw little girl Lan playing chinese jump rope, there was a warm feeling rising from the bottom of my heart. This game was so popular in China. Yet it was hardly found in any indigenous movies, you know whether or not a director put efforts into her work by these details.
The feeling in this movie is authentic. You wont find any forced take like you do in many blockbusters.
highly recommended.
