Preacher: Backdoors (2017)
Wow
Somehow they dehumanize hitler more by humanizing him. Exceptional writing 👏
Silicon Valley (2014)
Great until the finale
If you dont watch the series finale its an awesome show.
Once Upon a Time in... Hollywood (2019)
Weak
Cant believe tarantino directed this. I guess college education is necessary to understand bruce lee and what he stood for. The story could be told in under an hour.
Joker (2019)
Thoroughly empty and boring
Good acting and ok cinematography and absolutely nothing else. If it wasnt for joaquin phoenix' performance my rating would be 2/10
Silicon Valley: Exit Event (2019)
Depressing
Such a low key cliche ending for such a good show. "Back to where we started" yeah very original. Butchered the characters and the story Ill pretend this ending never happened because I sincerely like the series.
Lost in Space (2018)
This is not sci fi
Its a family drama in a sci fi setting. If it was scifi they would explore and be amazed with their surroundings.
A Clockwork Orange (1971)
A political masterpiece that is rarely understood
The premise is trying to control a natural tendency by artificial means doesnt work, hence the title. The film is a political parody of how the 3 major political ideologies of the 20th century deal with the concept of evil. The protagonist is not a real person, but the embodiment of the dark side of society (evil). The homeless man on the street represents the old system aka feudalism. The prison sequence explains how fascism deal with evil. The crippled elitist liberal represents communism, who comes close to killing the evil but cannot finish the job. The last scene at the hospital 'democracy' revives the half dead evil, feeding him by his own hands because it benefits his agenda. A similar idea is also explored in Dr.Strangelove's final scene, where crippled fascism gains the strength to walk again. A timeless masterpiece unless you are politically dim.
Rick and Morty: The Ricklantis Mixup (2017)
Best episode
One of the better moments of TV history. Its Python good. I can care less about the b-story but still gets top score since the actual story is beyond amazing. In fact the episode was so good that it might have killed the R&M - its been in freefall ever since. I doubt they will ever make an episode this good, sadly.
Rick and Morty: Rattlestar Ricklactica (2019)
Better but still not what it used to be
This one was better than the average for this season but its still subpar to what the show used to be. One thing I liked about this episode was the non dialogue snake hissing montage because the lack of dialogue actually allowed me to breathe and enjoy the story for a while, which reminded me how tiring dialogues and character voices have become lately. The lack of good writing really shows this season.
The Witcher (2019)
OK production; weak script
Production is mostly satisfying but the story doesnt flow at times especially in early episodes mostly because expositions are raw and character introductions seem random, not to mention a few generic dialogues. Pacing is all over the place. Too many elements of the universe is thrown at you in a bundle without much effort that tires and gets boring at times. Once you get past the introduction and advance into the story however, its not terrible. Could have been much better with a solid screenplay.
Rick and Morty: The Old Man and the Seat (2019)
disappointed
The idea for A-story is actually good rick is so lonely that he goes out his way and create a paradise for toilet to lure others in. He wants others to visit so he can interact with them (obv from the infrastructure he built for trespassers - he doesnt really want to keep them away but wants to prove his superiority). Of course he wouldnt admit that so he uses an escape excuse. Although its a good idea/premise, the writing in between is so bad that its unenjoyable for me. Jokes arent funny, and although the premise has depth the writing kills it for me. As for the B-story its so full of careless illogic that theres no point discussing it. Felt like watching a R&M parody. I wouldnt be so disappointed had I not waited so long.
