Trainspotting (1996)
Partier delightful
This movie was about partying like there was no tomorrow. I didn't understand a word of it though. I loved the music and I'm 51 years old. Usually I don't like music that pumps out noise like that but for this film it was a piece of work. That boy Ranton sure got himself in a heap of trouble. I'll bet if they did a sequel to this film he would've been strung up by his jewels and beaten to a bloody pulp. And funny to. Damn I was laughing like crazy when he went swimming in that toilet. But that baby part was freaky. I really think the guy who wrote this movie had to have had some personal experience with the junk that they were doing. How else would he know what happens when people do the things they do. I went and bought this one after I saw it because I wanted to see how the guys that made the movie did what they did. I watch it about once a month. Can't get enough of it. Gave it a 9.
Automatic (2005)
Portland loves it
Saw it in Portland then when I got back home I couldn't find this sucker anywhere. Who decides what movies I get to see is a mystery to me. I thought the story was a little convoluted and the stuff that these people put themselves through was painful, but dammit did it get to me. Especially that blonde lady in the end. Whoo! She was hot. She was naked. I loved it, except for the guy she was with. He didn't deserve her and I felt like if she wouldn't have had the past that she had she wouldn't have even thought twice about what she did for that slob. I wanted to punch him in the face. I guess the brother wanted to too, but he didn't get a chance. It was the other way around. I knew what was going on and I could see where it was going but the way it played out afterward surprised the you know what out of me. It was a real crowd pleaser in Portland, although I didn't know a soul in the movie. I give it an 8.
The Usual Suspects (1995)
I knew.
Even though everyone who saw this film probably says they knew what the hell was going on, I knew. Now don't get me wrong it was clever as hell. He almost doubled back on me, but I knew. Anyway it was like a blanket the way it was woven together. And the dialogue was hilarious. When McManus says "Oswald was a fag" well I damn near lost it. I have never seen the mumbler before but he was good to. There weren't a whole lot of women in the movie but funny enough that didn't bother me that much. It is a guys film. The ending was about a good an ending as you can have. I give this one a 10. And now I need one more line, so I'll say if I could give this one an eleven, I would.
