The Assistant (2004– )
funny... in a bizarre way
27 July 2004
There are two kinds of people in this world:

People who love Andy Dick and people who hate him. Being in the former of the two, I happen to enjoy Andy Dick's take on "reality". But this show isn't exactly "funny" in traditional Dick manner.

In fact the comedic moments come from seeing the contestants do ridiculous things to get an "entry level" job and a Scion.

Granted, he does have some funny parts, (i.e. his book: The Life And Times of Andy Dick; knocking over lit torches and setting bushes ablaze; etc) but this is certainly a dark comedy reality show.

But hey, who said dark comedy wasn't funny?

A Bug's Life (1998)
Foley tried his best(SPOILERS)
14 June 2003
Warning: Spoilers
I first saw Dave Foley when he was doing "Kids In The Hall". I thought he was a comic genius. But it wasn't until I saw he chemistry with Phil Hartman and Maura Tierney on "NewsRadio", that I knew it. "A Bug's Life" was in a difficult situation. "Antz" had opened a short time before and was doing quite well. "A Bug's Life" well short in quite a few areas. Julia-Louis Dreyfus (who was brilliant on "Seinfeld") is a truly horrid princess and I found myself rooting for Kevin Spacey in the Atta/Hopper scenes.

Though, It must be pointed out that Dave Foley was not the only one who had a hand in saving the picture. David Hyde Pierce stole every scene he was in and just think, if a stick could talk, wouldn't it sound like David Pierce? Dave and David managed to salvage this otherwise awful flik(No pun intended).

Not to shabby...
13 May 2003
While I thought this film went a little overboard in some cases, it (overall) wasn't bad. It helps the understanding to see the "E! True Hollywood Story" of "Three's Company" before watching this because it doesn't give enough of the backstory or really much of what happened afterwards(which is where E!THS comes in handy). The movie was well-filmed and well-cast as you soon forget that the actors bare little resemblence to their counter-parts. Though, the best casting job was the role of ABC Executive Fred Silverman(Brian Dennehy). Dennehy's performance outshines anyone else in the same frame, and it is sad to see him move to NBC. Joyce DeWitt's role in the production of the film turned her character into the "loyal" role. Apparently showing that she was the only one who wanted to keep the show running. Good overall and a must for any "Three's Company" fan.

NewsRadio (1995– )
Absolutely Killing!
21 August 2002
Wonderful Show!

This show got canceled for no reason at all. The cast was good. The humour was great. Even after Phil Hartman died it was still funny. My favourite episodes were the "What If?" episodes. On the Space Station and the Titanic.

5 stars

The Net (I) (1995)
Updated version of "1984" (PLOT SPOILERS)
5 August 2002
Warning: Spoilers
When you think about it (if you've read the book) this story is similar to that of George Orwell's "1984": When someone dies their indenity is deleted, the main character is a fugitive and is on the run from the British. I(being English) thought that Jeremy Northam's portrayal of Jack Devlin was a little over the top. If he had shot Bullock's character in the first scene his plan would have worked!

BAD!(Possible spoiler)
4 August 2002
Warning: Spoilers
I have to agree with Hancock the Superb. The show is down right awful. Every episode is the same: the girls get pressured to do something and the boys jump to conclusions. It's just like all of the other crap NICK is airing. I give it a -3. But that's just my opinion.

Press Your Luck (1983–1986)
ADDICTIVE!!!!!!!!
29 April 2002
I just got the game show network 6 days ago. I was flipping around the television at about 9:30 pm(3:30 pm EST) and I saw an episode of "WHAMMY! THE ALL NEW 'PRESS YOUR LUCK'". I enjoyed the little whammy running about and taking people's money. The next day I saw an episode of the original "PRESS YOUR LUCK". I liked it even better than "WHAMMY!". I now find myself taping it and watching it when I get home. It's addictive.

The Lorax (1972 TV Movie)
Silly little film
21 December 2001
Not bad. I am a fan of Ted Geisel (a.k.a. Dr. Seuss, Theo. LeSieg)and his work. It has a good lesson but the book was better. For two reasons:

1.) You could use your imagination and 2.) No over used, annoying, pointless, not needed songs.

My opinion: 7 out of 10

Read the book you'll understand.

Blackout Effect (1998 TV Movie)
Interesting
12 August 2001
This was recently shown on BBC so I had a chance to watch it. An Air Traffic Controler's life is one of the most stressful, as is illustrated in this drama. It has an interesting plot, which (I think) is well played out by the actors. Although Charles Smith's character is a little over the top.

All in all it's a pretty good movie.

Wayne's World (1992)
8/10
Excellent!
11 August 2001
Great Movie! Mike Myers is funny in every thing he does. If you like SNL you'll love this. Great cast, directed well, the scenes between Wayne and the camera are some of the best. The 3 endings are good too. Party on Wayne & Garth! By the way the brownies are good (see the credits)!
