Civil War (2024)

Utter action or Utter Boredom

This movie jumps from high action combat sequence to slow boring interaction by the press group. This could have been filled in by the back story of how this came about. Nothing is remotely explained why TX and CA were the ones that started this when these states are about as far apart in philosophy as you can get. Maybe CA and IL be a better fit. Or TX and AZ. But nothing is shown in those states as everything happens on the east coast. I was awaiting this movie but only the last minutes brought it together. I didnt even recognize Kirsten till saw I her name in the end. No need for constant action, but the talking between the press group grind everything to a halt. They dont even discuss how things progressed. The acting was not good so seemed so contrite about the topics they talked about. The ending was worth it, but the press gets in the way of the soldiers and they have to pull them out of the way. It was like the soldiers were there to escort the press. The US also has so many bunkers and underground facilities I didnt expect anyone in charge to be above ground. The movie assumed nobody knows this.

Trishna (2011)

The reasons for the change are shown

There is a lot of speculation of why the guy has gone through a change in his treatment of Trishna, but the clue is pretty obvious. The confessions between them when she says she had an abortion was the turn around. He had high plans for them and said he would tell his father about the two of them continuing. Even an open society a GF telling you she had an abortion and not tell you would be an ending to it. But this is lot more restrictive society and add a class system to it. He decided she is not marrying material anymore, I was thinking he abandoned her when the apartment was being leased and that he would not contact her again. But he decided to use her for his fantasy since she wasnt going to be his wife and she was docile enough for that. It was cruel to do that but he felt stabbed in the back for not being notified. She doesnt communicate well, as she also didnt tell him when apartment was being leased. She sensed there was no more love but continued to serve him as she was thought in the society. Which drove her over the edge as the mind cont comprehend both things.

Miller's Girl (2024)

Lot of smoking and there is some kind of movie

The movie must have bet on smoking industry payments more then box office revenue. The teens are smoking, the teen smokes with adults. Adults smoke by themselves. Oh there is some story that you have to figure out did it happen or was it a writing only. Moral is teen girls take everything literally as they want to find their 1st love, like the only love of a lifetime. One teacher keeps telling the other teacher I luv you, but everytime gets old. The interaction of the teacher and the student seems normal at 1st, nothing to take out of context but as he is questioned later, you ask why did you even do that.

Nick of Time (1995)

When Johny Depp is the wimpiest

This is the most pathetic actor that he ever played. Whatever he does fails completely. His attempts are half hearted and truly stupid while. Walken is a super person appearing everywhere suddenly, Walken is also very dispised so he plays himself. He has a chance to get his daughter back but believes that if he shoots the hostage taker in the forehead she can still fire. The victim has to be very compromised for this movie to work, and Depp is just like that. If you handed a gun your not a victim anymore, but this character still never takes the upper hand. He gives up his gun in a room of people he would not know if they are involved, frustration through out.

Mother's Day (I) (2010)

It works with dumb hostages

The mom didnt have clever threats but the hostages were pathetic and not very smart. So the homeowner though he had better chance with the mom gang instead of signalling the cop when he was alone with him. The wife was even worse after knocking out her taker, she leaves him there so he can come back and chase her - American movies have this exact theme and making woman so incompetent. But they sure know how to criticize other countries of their treatment of woman. Over all I guess it was watchable but frustrating. Not really a horror film. A doctor volunteering to help one of them, was also a shirt sightedness that comes out in this flick.

Scarlett (2020)

Daughter has no common sense

I can see this can be like life, train someone as much you can but building character is the hardest. Her fighting skills are decent. He he needed to train her in common sense as she seems dense in that area, She needed training on negotiations and how to kick someone in the nads. She gives up her gun multiple times. She tries to do a swap in the the lair of the gang by her self. What were the explosions for - nothing. She doesnt want to shoot at people so she passes the chance to get guns multiple times. Her questioning of people who know where her dad is bordering on saying oh please tell me, wont you, when they are restrained. Not much to cheer for when the players are this bad.

Not what it seems

This is not your usual movie relying on standard science fiction. It uses fringe science where theories exist for the concepts. The biggest thing you should not believe is the train interiors being same as in Chicago. The Metra trains are drab, they do not have crossover platform on 2nd level or a Dunkin stand. The bathrooms do not have push button doors. The ending shows Colter saves the girl -played by Michelle Monagham, and the train doesnt explode. But Dr. Rutledge mentions to Colter as hes explaining it in simple terms what is going on that parallel universe is involved. This would mean that all events exist including the huge downtown bomb. The ending shown is just one event where the people at the military project are not aware that they averted anything. Other parallel events did occur where they are aware and tragedy did happen.

Lamb (2021)

It might be about a lesson learned

Interesting and strange to the max. The beginning is serene watching how they take care of the farm. Then the human side of her takes over and shows the aspect how people have to no respect for animal mothers. Just like calfs being dragged away cows so they can get the milk. They do same thing for the companionship of this animal. She seems gentle will this point. Have to respect her rejecting the brother.

Tunnelen (2019)

Rescue workers wait outside the tunnel.

The tunnel is not impossible to get around as some people do. Only 2 masked firefighters are sent in. A plow driver drives all the way to the scene, why couldnt the fire trucks and rescue everyone and get them out. Most people are on their own panicking. Alot of drama not alot of work to help anyone. Some cars even drive out of the tunnel on their own. A poor attempt at a disaster movie. The lady getting calls at dispatch doesnt seem to be able to the contact rescuers unless they call her coughing.

Apocalypto (2006)

An epic one of a kind

So many movies have flaws, this one has few with constant action and drama. Its like the cameras were really there. Only oddity is Jaguar Paw slowing down and deer in the headlight look when he is being pursued. Yes he is injured but it doesnt seem to effect his running. He stops at the bottom of the falls to taunt them when he needs to get to his family, of course they also catch up to him. Many will say this culture has been disintegrating already due to its sacrifices while being in denial of what is happening in our culture as break down in society. Such as a man can rape a minor teen in the US, then get the parents to ok a marriage and the victim becomes the wife instead of the offender going to prison. Child brides are allowed in many states. Dont pass morals on other cultures if yours is falling apart.

Hardcore (1979)

Jake didnt come through for Niki

His "acting" when he meets people to get information from is very pathetic. He could just say he is looking for her to star her in his film, but he just sounds like an obsessed stalker the way he puts it. Niki goes out of her way and puts her life on the line as the detective described her handler or pimp. Jake promises her in the hotel he will take care of her, but in the end he is a let down and releases her to the vultures. He has a company and could have offered her a chance, but didnt. George C Scotts acting in this movie is a 4.

The movie is slow and barely watchable. All these great reviews before opening day. If you want to watch closeup of cage since hes in most all scenes.this is for you. None of the characters realy fit together. Overused cliche is boring. His younger self is a scene that doesnt work either. Only last30min or so is any good. His worst film.

The Whistleblower (2010)

Its a tough subject to handle, but should not be a surprise to anyone unless you have your head in the sand too far. The story has been reviewed so this will be about her performance. Hard to say if shes a rookie or veteran cop, or I missed it. But whether in Detroit or Kansas, if thats how she handled perps she would never get the upper hand. Shes very meek and usually never speaks up louder even if the staff is messing around with her. Waiting for her to put her foot down, but it doesnt happen. She has some clout but never uses it. The story should drive it, but it needed her personality.

Spy Wars (2019)

Blatant Facts misused, wrong flags Cmon

Even in E1S1 they are showing 1970s Soviet embassy with russian flag, the russian flag did come in to use until much later. The flag was red, do the producers know any of this. They talk about tensions with Reagan in 1983- no explanation why. In Poland the Solidarity was shaking the boots off the communists and Reagan was supporting them with nuclear threat against soviet union if they invaded Poland - none of the them on the show mention it.

Money Heist (2017–2021)

When incidences are illogical and long and boring

One can see in a few episodes that the cops have the worse coincidences and the robbers the best of luck. The cop in a drunken drive only calls 2 numbers - both to his partner - which both dont go anywhere. He didnt know any other detective? The lady cop is beyond dumb to not notice what her partner told her and becomes an accomplice to the crime as he helps the professor.

Right at the beginning they said Germany lost territory to Poland in the east, what they show is POST WWII territory annexation by Poland not after WWI. The territory they show was still Germany upto 1945. What other screw ups this show falsifies.

Liam doesnt have specials skills anymore

Decent story that doesnt make sense. Its under attack that Liam fall apart and cant get his truck to even hit a snowmobile till its too late. For something that is critically urgent, they sure do waste alot of time talking about feelings and other useless things. He cant outfight pretty much anyone. His brother tries to save a semi with his body, how that work out for you. The farmers commercial driver gets his, hes the most annoying.

Other then the fake raving review how everything is funny, it is not. Larry had some amusing movies, but this one isnt it. I never heard of it till 2021and Im glad I didnt. People who had metal roofs installed also lost reception most of the time, so the review this cant be true is no expert. The factory is large but they are in a single separate room so one exit might not be unheard of. The mom has few lines and never shows her personality. At least other characters come out with some emotion.

Addictive watching fake drama

If Hanna continues in the series probably wont watch past season 2. She shows her vindictive power hungry side that captains are totally blind to. On the other hand theres too much drama for real people, so its looking all staged. Malia is pretty but she is not enough for the men to give up their honor for as the men were tripping over themselves to be with her despite what they say they wont and knew her history.

The mom played by Zuninga has been in other movies and she wasnt this bad at all. She has a smart mouth but comes off stupid most of the time. I thought the movie is over because she has pictures then they all become stupid and drag it on. The mom and daughter roles are reversed and that doesnt work either. The detective and her check the house but not completely. The daughter defends herself like they do in horror movie, hit them twice and run. I dont mind low budget but when acting is way better.

90 Feet from Home (2019)

Good till the intruders

It still didnt seem right how the kid took so much stuff from the step old man, he was getting bigger and should have responded, but I guess he was intimidated. Hes trying to save him so he can do it himself, why? The intruders in the house found by the detective should not have covered up. Its Texas its not like the cities up north where you cant even upset an intruder. Then the story turns in this direction instead of being about the old man, they must have thought that the story was getting slow. The son showed that he protected him because he was tied to him and not surprising he didnt pull off what he wanted to do.

Cry Macho (2021)

It starts with a scene which isnt related later on. Then it gets worse. Most of the mexican towns are so bleak with outdated cars and it wasnt even filmed there, Clint goes back to the mom, why, he didnt know what she had in mind. He is told to look less gringo so he gets a new mexico style indian design jacket. He had plenty of money but they steal cars to be even more suspicious. They spend way too long in mexico knowing they are being pursued, like over 2 weeks. He says he is an animal lover yet he worked in rodeos, animals are not treated right in rodeos. People bring him animals to cure for no reason, one is scratched and one is old. People in small rural town wouldnt know how to deal with that? He is calling the police names. But it looks like one might know english as he answers him. The ending is more then disappointing with the info that was revealed. Just not worth it.

Missing people and children are the lowest priority. I have seen few documentary where a serial killer gets a teen and all the parents are told is that they are a runaway and dont do anything else. The mom is more gung ho then brains but she tries. Why didnt she call the lady that was helping her when she was was in the hotel to meet her. Not lot of common sense but I like her attitude.

They try to relate religion with history and how it relates to their point of view. Lot of it is in talk show format and they dont get to any point quickly. They falsely conclude George Washington was a Christian, he was definitely not, he was freemasons and they are not Christians. Get your facts straight when making a show.

Snowpiercer (2013)

Just a reflection of current society

Reviews questioned why is there a class system, basically because our society has a vary wide ranging class system. It might seem like a future train, but its more a metaphor how we currently live. We pass time (circling the tracks of the world) doing what needs to be done and sometimes people who are power hungry do things to make other peoples lives more difficult and to stay in power. The children not being shown to be free thinkers but conformists - the education system of every country. Teach them to be loyal to the country while all other lifestyles are wrong and the version of history to make the founders and leaders to be angelic - sounds like grammar school about George Washington and all the of the founders are angelic without question and the queen of england is just a figurehead. Talk about science fiction, the movie makers have nothing on the education system.
