MP Da Last Don (1998 Video)
10/10
THIS IS THE GREATEST NO LIMIT MOVIE OF ALL TIME
12 March 2002
Some hip hop directors make films to increase the level of profanity, but Master P makes films to increase the level of profundity. If it's not his love of subtle subtext then it's his wonderful use of tracking shots and high key lighting. Not only a master craftsmen behind the camera, but a dynamic actor that Stanislavsky would be so proud of. P has also enlisted the shimmering talent of master thespian brothers in this film Vyshonne and Corey Miller. Indeed the presence of Skull Duggery and Magic is missing from this venture, but surely there is no need for a Paul Schofield when Snoop Dogg allows time for a cameo. All in all a masterpiece, and it is an outrage that Da Last Don is not on AFI's Top 100 list.

Freddy Got Me Smiling
20 April 2001
OK, since every uptight, snooty, hypocrite critic is bashing this movie let me do it the justice by saying that Freddy is Fabulous. Tom Green plays Gord; he's an aspiring animator that also has a big hobbie for skatebording. The movie follows Gord through his attempts to break into the animation world and find love, while finding acceptance in his brutal father and raising havoc to be the Tom Green we all adore. Not only does Tom Green do an excellent job of balancing the plot with some of the most absurd and gross antics I've ever seen, but does an excellent job with the directing and editing of this film. The plot's pacing and use of angles with the camera were genius. Although the films antics were extremely gross they were not sexually offensive to the point of pornography as in Scary Movie or American Pie. It's all good gross fun along with an deeper message of the pursuit of happiness for everyone. No matter how strange Green may seem to we who don't masturbate animals, we all have our own little quirks in life that sometimes allow us to question our potential. Kudos to Tom Green and Kudos to Freddy Got Fingered.

Joe Dirt (2001)
7/10
Although not shakespeare, here's the dirt on this warm hearted romp.
15 April 2001
Joe Dirt has been slammed relentlessly by the critics as unfunny and stupid. I went to see the film last night, and let me just say I found myself still smiling about it when I got home. Although it wasn't at the same level of comedy as Little Nicky and Deuce Bigelow, Joe Dirt was a movie with some very funny moment. It played over all as more of a feel good comic drama. It had some very stupid moments, but there are also many welcome Dennis Miller scenes and hilarious cameos. Although Joe Dirt is an idiot he is not a Kid Rock. You definitely feel for him and his story, and that's what really makes this movie. I guarantee that if you can sit through some really bad moments in the beginning then you'll come out of the theatre feeling good and having a new desire to grow a mullet cut.
