Frankenhooker (1990)
TASTY
Great movie! Henenlotterv turns to be a really original filmmaker, with his own touch. i watched basket case more then 20 years ago, yesterday i watched brain damage , and now this! perhaps the rated version. could not find the two minutes longer one, which i will definitely look for. was so pleased to see Alison Gordy, as i am a huge J.T. fan. can't believe she is uncredited!
Let's Get Lost (1988)
a real director could do an amazing work on chet.
Just seen it. mixed feelings. great for chet footage. the hell around is casual. usual. this sort of films telling the things public wanna know. i would like to know more about his work. the content of this doku is pretty standard, besides chet himself. i think that could be done way better.
it's great cuz it was made with real chet. not afterwords. the style is typical mtv in my eyes, somewhere between mtv, and lech kowalski. the director is a photographer, and likes to appear himself. style wise it is not very fine film making in my eyes.. i think a real director could do an amazing work on chet. but it is still pretty good, and it is a very very lucky thing that this film was made at least! and let's get lost " the title, fits it very well. a great document of course. and we should be very thankful to the creators.
The Brown Bunny (2003)
the first 20 minutes of racing on motorcycle is missing
The first 20 minutes of racing on motorcycle is missing. that would make the film even better. hope they make a full version available. Vincent Galo has his own true and sensitive way of story telling. the plot is never too important for me, in a movie. like lyrics in a rock song. important is, if it's real , and really comes true. what it certainly does for me, with films of Vincent Gallo. in my eyes - the finest what i seen, in long time, from that era. but i watch mostly older films. so for me, especially good surprise. the brown bunny 2003! good film making today, a rare case. mr. Gallo did a very good job. the comments which say bad editing, they just don't get it! the editing is gorgeous. good movies, good editings, they play on multiple levels. a quality this movie has, and the 16mm look of it, is extraordinary appealing. looks like Gallo succeeded in this film with ideas, and visions, he wanted too. in brown bunny,
