Alexander (2004)
Message from A.T.G. to Oliver Stone.
Concerning Oliver Stone and all of his funders and producers of the film Alexander Revisited: The Final Cut (Unrated)
Message from A. T. G.
"I sue them for deformation, for all the blatant lies that they use in this adaptation of my life."
For saying Alexander the Great was some sort of handbag, instead of the strong "Alpha Male" who had hundreds of mistresses, in reality.
Secondly, any basic combat training states that all weapons should be on the body at all times. Yet in the film, there was a knife left on the bed, while he was with a total stranger. A Great Leader, and conqueror will never do this!
In addition, the worst of all, was taking "The Great" from his true title.
Only Fools and Horses (1981)
Great Series apart from one discrepancy.
Only Fools and Horses was one of the best Sitcoms ever, apart from using the actor Nick Stringer as two different character roles.
His first role was in "Go West Young Man", which was episode two in series one. When he plays a total stranger that purchased a dodgy car from Del Boy.
Then as Kenneth "Jumbo" Mills in episode called "Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?", which was the last episode in series five. When he tries to get Del to become his business partner for his used car empire at Australia.
I would have given this series a magic 10 rating, apart from this discrepancy. Therefore, I have given the whole series a 9 rating instead.
The Brittas Empire (1991)
This must be the worst comedy ever!
I have watched series one. However, I cannot watch anymore, because it is rubbish. I have watched many comedy shows in my life, but this must be the worst ever. With poor scripts, and casting. The studio audience must have been paid to laugh. Because, I never laughed at all in series one. Slapstick? Never!
Therefore, avoid like the plague in my opinion. I always knew there is nothing funny about health clubs, and I was correct.
In the 1980's there were many classic comedy shows.
What happened to English humour in the 1990's?
Because many of the shows from that decade are just so bad!
Thank you for reading my review today!
1917 (2019)
I found this film a bit overrated.
This film in my opinion was a little overrated. In addition, there were discrepancies. Like when he was submerged in water for many minutes in the stream and gets out ringing wet, yet when he delivered the paper containing the orders, the paper was totally bone-dry. Therefore, I had no other alternative than to give this only a 4-star review. However, The acting was okay throughout the film. I have watched many wartime films, but this one was a bit of a let-down for me. The only good part of this film was that there were not any American actors involved, what is always a bonus in a British film.
Deceit (2021)
Compelling drama, based on a true story.
After watching all the series back to back without ads on All4+. I found this drama was well produced with 1st rate acting performances from all the cast. I will not spoil it for someone who has not viewed it yet. However, it a must view on how the police force operated in the 1990's. A must watch for people who like gripping dramas.
The Island with Bear Grylls (2014)
The best survival programme on TV.
Just watched the 1st Series. 13 men arrived at the island, and 13 men were there at the end. Just shows how strong men are without the distraction from women.
Married at First Sight UK (2015)
The new series is more like 'Big Brother' Boring, Boring, and Boring.
The first five series of this show was quite good. However, series six is more like Big Brother. With so-called experts, who have no psychology qualifications. In addition, contestants who act more like spoilt children, instead of adults.
Our Yorkshire Farm (2018)
This series is a joy to watch.
After watching series one and two, I found this series really entertaining. Showing what life is like as a sheep farmer in England. In addition, proving that all their nine children have their uses in the farm. A must watch!
Auf Wiedersehen, Pet (1983)
Must be one of the best series in the 1980's
Great story lines in all episodes of series 1 and 2. With realistic characters and fantastic acting performances by all the cast of this great show.
It was better when it was produced by ITV.
This rating is only for Auf Wiedersehen, Pet series 1-2.
If I were only rating series 3-4 that was produced by the BBC, then I would only give it 4 stars.
Car Share (2015)
I found this show a bit overrated.
The BBC states this is a comedy. However, I never laughed once during any of this series. The BBC just does not make any decent comedy shows anymore.
Ca$h (2010)
Great performance by Sean Bean. Great Film!
The Story: When a suitcase is thrown out of a car that is involved in a car chase and lands on the car of Sam Phelan (Chris Hemsworth), he initially curses his luck. But then he finds the suitcase is loaded with money. After bringing the suitcase to his home, he convinces his wife Leslie (Victoria Profeta) that they should use the money.
Meanwhile Pyke Kubic (Sean Bean) visits his twin brother Reese (also Bean) in jail, who tells him that he threw a suitcase with about half a million dollars from his car when he was being chased by the police. Pyke decides to go and find the money.
I really like the film blot and the acting performance by Sean Bean. Therefore, if you haven't seen it, then I recommend that you do.
Spring and Port Wine (1970)
A Classic Film, showing what life was like in Bolton, England on 1969/70.
I have watched this film many times, and it always seems to get better. With great acting performance by James Mason, and the cast of this classic English film. If you have not seen it before, then I highly recommend that you do.
Finding Escobar's Millions (2017)
Should be called 'Not Finding Escobar's Millions' instead.
I managed to watch all 12 episodes of this show, just to find out if they uncovered any money or gold in their search. However, I was horrified to find out that they never uncovered anything. What a waste of time! In my opinion, they should not be allowed to use the word 'finding' in the title, because they never found anything at all. Do not waste your time on this series.
The Royle Family (1998)
Classic Series. This is how situation comedy should be.
The Royle Family is one of the best comedy series of all time, in my opinion.
Because of the impeccable acting performances off all the cast, and the 1st class scripts in all episodes.
More importantly, because it was not 'Politically Correct or Woke.'
A must watch for anyone with a sense of humour.
Fish Town (2011)
Real English people doing a proper day's work. Great Show!
I came across this show by accident while browsing Now TV, and found all 10 episodes really entertaining. I visited the fishing town of Brixham for the day while on holiday at Torquay in 2015, and found the people there really genuine. So I'm really glad a series has been made capturing the real English folk of Brixham in all their glory.
The Twilight Zone (2019)
This Twilight Zone is more like The Woke Zone.
I have watched the first seven episodes, and found them just too woke. Give me the original series any day of the week. When they had decent story lines and good acting. Instead of trying to spread that woke poison to the masses with this rubbish.
