Charmed: Forever Charmed (2006)
Where's Prue??
I was really impressed with the series finale of Charmed, but I was really sad to know that there would be no more new episodes. I think it was really cool that Piper survived the big explosion at the end of the last episode because she died pretty much every week and I think it was her turn to shine, and she deserved it. I was also pleased to see all the of familiar faces of the Halliwell family for one last time, but one face that was noticeably absent was of course: Prue. Now I know that a lot of people would disagree, but being a huge fan of Prue, I was really disappointed. I know Brad Kern said that he didn't bring Shannen Doherty back on the show because he didn't want the finale to be focused on Prue's return, which I completely understand. But he could've avoided all of that by simply bringing Prue back on an episode before the series finale so when she came back for the final episode, all the attention wouldn't be on her. I mean, if they could manage to bring Cole back for an episode after his death, then I think they could've squeezed Prue in since she was a way more important character than Cole. I think it would've been really nice to see Prue reunite with Piper and Phoebe and meet Paige after being dead for five years. I think the fact that she never appeared after her death was a huge disappointment to all of the fans, and the character in general. I kinda think that none of this had to do with the fact of having the attention on Prue, I think it had to do with some on set rifts between Brad and Shannen (FYI: I side with Shannen on that one.) But other than Prue not being there, I think this was a spectacular end to an eight year run. I'm glad the sisters got to live and finally get to live normal lives. So, overall verdict: 9/10
Buffy the Vampire Slayer (1997)
A Compliment to the Writers
I'm mew to the Buffyverse, but I have to say that this is an amazing show. The cast is really great, the creatures are creative, characters show an excellent amount of growth throughout the 7 seasons. But one thing in particular that stands out for me is the writing. As I'm a fan of writing, I have to say that this show has some outstanding writing. Starting first with Joss Whedon, who created this amazing show. His episodes stand out more than any of the other. Out of all of his, my favorite is "Hush". Joss does an amazing job of expressing the character's feelings without dialouge, which is something not a lot of writers can do. And the Gentleman were definitely the most scariest creatures of the series. The cast also did a wonderful job at acting. One of my other favorites of his is "Once More, With Feeling". I mean, it takes a lot of talent for a writer of a supernatural show to pull off a musical episode. I was really impressed that Joss wrote the music and lyrics, also. But what I like about Joss Whedon's writing is that all of his episodes are masterpieces and he is really dedicated to writing great episodes. "The Body" gives us the impression of death unlike we've ever seen on the show. "The Gift" delivers the most shocking plot twist in the series and makes us wonder if what happened at the ending was real or not. I also like the series premiere "Welcome to the Hellmouth and the series finale "Chosen". Joss Whedon is hands down a master at writing the classic and memorable episodes of "Buffy". Another writer that I've noticed write some really good episodes is Marti Noxon. Some of her's are my favorite. "The Wish" is probably the episode she's best known for. Not only does it teach us an important life lesson and introduce us to a cool new character (Anya), it also makes us ask: What would if Buffy never came to Sunnydale? Also, "Buffy vs. Dracula" is another one of her best. It introduces us to the best known vampire ever and Buffy's sister, Dawn. And it was the first season premiere Joss didn't write, and I think Marti was the best choice to write the first Non-Joss-Season-Priemere-Episode. "Bargaining Part 1" was also a good one, but I'm surprised that Joss didn't write that two-parter, considering the fact that he was responsible for the whole plot of those episodes. Marti and David Fury did their best at writing the sixth season premiere, but if Joss wrote it, it probably would have been a lot better. And finally, "Bring on the Night", the final episode Marti wrote, was outstanding, and I'm glad she was the one to write Joyce's final appearance in the series. She is no Joss, but Marti Noxon comes in pretty close. Overall, this is a really good show that had an amazing set of writers. Marti Noxon and Joss Whedon were probably the best writers on the show and all their episodes are on my, as well as a lot of other people's, list of favorites. Good Job!
X-Men: The Last Stand (2006)
Dark Phoenix is Here.... And With a Vengeance
Wow! This movie was a sure fire box office hit and a wonderful movie. The movie starts with scientists finding a cure for the mutant X gene, which they might make all mutants take. Many of the X-men are cured, including Mystigue, Rogue, and Magneto. But more problems are brewing for Professor X and his gang of good mutants. Jean Grey has been resurrected from the dead but is being put under a sort of spell by what we know as Dark Phoenix. Her power of telekinesis is so strong that she destroys everything that crosses her path, including people! Scott aka Cyclops found Jean but she killed him. Then when she is brought back to the mansion, her and Wolverine "express" their love and then she breaks the lab door off with her power blasts Woleverine out of the way and leaves the mansion. Professor X and Jean have a battle to the death and Professor X looses. Now Jean joins the Brotherhood where, with Pyro new members come as well. Callisto, who has super speed and super senses, ends up fighting with Storm a lot! In the end, it's a battle that ends with Wolverine killing the love of his life, Jean Grey. This installment was way better than the first two and I love the new characters Beast and Angel. It was cool to see Storm having her powers expand, since she's my favorite of all X-Men. By the way this one ended, I think we'll be seeing and X4, just without Scott, Professor X, and Maybe Jean Grey. Whoknows the Dark Phoenix might return to Earth and cause more destruction....... well I know that Phoenix isn't done with her life of vengeance and defeat!
Charmed: All Hell Breaks Loose (2001)
Bye Prue Hello Sob!
This episode of Charmed changed everything! The show is about to end it's third season, and all hell IS breaking loose in this episode. The Charmed ones bring an Innocent named Dr. Griffiths to the manor the protect him from Shax, The Sources assassin. When Shax attacks, he blasts in as a tornado and then corporealizes into his demon skin. He blasts Prue threw a wall which totally knocks her out and practically kills her. Then blasts Piper threw what is left of the wall. Phoebe comes from the attic and says the vanquishing spell before Shax came kill the doctor. But being the Power of One, it just wounds him.Leo comes to heal the other sisters and Prue wants to find Shax and destroy him for real. Phoebe, meanwhile is in the Underworld trying to find Cole. When Prue and Piper go out into the street to find the demon, the demon finds them. After their battle, the witches realize that a camera caught everything! When they get back to Manor trying to battle the media and after they vanquished Shax, a a witch gone kookoo shoots Piper. Prue uses her telekinesis to move people out of the way so she can get to the hospital. But they get their to late and Piper dies. And just when Prue is about to get shot, time is rewound to where they bring Dr. Griffiths to the Manor. Shax blows in and blasts Prue and Piper. But Phoebe is still in the Underworld so Shax kills the doctor and blasts out of the Manor. When Leo finally comes, he can't heal Prue. Prue is dead and so is the Power of Three. For Now. Personally. this episode was sad. Prue was the strongset of all of them. I would love to have her power of telekinesis. i really don't think Phoebe should of went to the Underworld because if she didn't, Shax wouldn't have killed Prue. But Paige brings The Power of Three together again and I'm happy with the show's progress
