Kindred: The Embraced (1996)
Don't knock Fox on this one.
I know FOX has a history of killing good series before their time, see Strange Luck or Firefly, but they may have taken the high ground discontinuing Kindred: The Embraced. The ratings were there for the show and they were going to continue on with the series except for the fact that Mark Frankel was killed in a motorcycle accident. They could have continued the series without him but felt it would have been the wrong thing to do. Maybe it has been long enough and a network should think about redoing the series. We get series like Blood Ties and Moonlight, etc. and they can't seem to make it these days. Perhaps they should try a license that is more well known. I know that the Star Wars live action series will be huge and so would a fantasy series called Dungeons and Dragons. How about Shadowrun or Champions. Heroes as well as the success of all of the Marvel movies lately has got to show the industry that there is an audience out there. I don't think a series based on Vampire would be a guaranteed hit but it would do well on HBO or Showtime. Thanks
Still Standing (2002)
One of the funniest shows on TV.
You have to relate to it for it to be funny. Someone who can't relate will probably find this show lame, much the same can be said of shows like Yes Dear too. Still Standing does not appeal to all audiences but my wife, myself, and all of our friends find it hilarious.
The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring (2001)
The movie is 10 times better than the book!!!
Finally someone has put together a movie adaption of a book that is far superior to the original literary work. When one takes into context when the Fellowship of the Ring was published, it is a big deal because it and the Hobbit started the genre of Fantasy literature. However, when compared with the Fantasy novels of today, The Lord of the Rings Trilogy simply can't compare. Peter Jackson has taken the majority of the good elements of the book and cut out a lot of the boring aspects and created a wonderful story superior to the book. A must see!!!
