The Perfect Murder: Body in the Glades (2017)
Snow in Miami?
The snow on the ground outside a Miami jail in one scene was a nice touch!
The Perfect Murder: Death and the Maiden (2016)
Good episode but what's with all the snowy scenes?
This murder occurred in South Carolina, but nearly every scene shows snow everywhere. It hardly snows in SC...especially in July which is when this murder occurred.
Shock Theatre (1958)
One of the highlights of my week as a kid!
As a child in the early and mid 60s in western North Carolina, I was a regular viewer of Shock Theater on Saturday afternoons on WLOS. Lots of Universal horror films from the '30s and '40s. As I recall, they would play the same movie late Saturday night on "Nightmare Theater". Anyone else remember that?
Martin Morgan and Bill Norwood were.also popular weathermen on WLOS during that time period.
The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (2003)
Well worth seeing for horror fans!
I love horror films, and have been greatly disappointed in recent years by the poor quality of horror movies that have been released. Boring and not scary. (Darkness Falls is a good example). Therefore, I had zero expectations for this movie, and went to see it out of curiosity...to see how badly they could ruin the original. However, this remake is quite good! It's creepy, claustrophobic and quite effective in conveying a sense of dread, and has several quite scary moments. There are a couple of "jolts" that made me jump(and I rarely do that). I found it absorbing and tense, with several good performances.
I highly recommend it if you're a fan of the genre.
Christmas Nightmare (2001)
Don't waste your time
Lifeless horror film that did not keep me interested. It's very slow moving with inane dialogue and long stretches in which nothing happens. The main characters were listless and undeveloped, and I couldn't care less what happened to them.
Max Keeble's Big Move (2001)
"Phattitude"
This is a surprisingly entertaining little film about one kid's first week in junior high school, and his determination to start the new school year with "phattitude", Alex D. Linz is extremely likeable in the role of Max Keeble, and his charm and energy carry the film. The adult characters are overly broad, but that's all part of the fun here. Max learns a few lessons along the way, and the overall message is a positive one.
