Deadfall (1993)

Biehn, Cage, Sheen, Coburn = why did this not work?
4 January 2003
Warning: Spoilers
The answer is that the film just looks so cheap! It's tacky! The finale 'shoot-outs' are awful, accompanied by some very bad extra's. Biehn was perfectly suitable in the role, it is a shame that he had such a bad character, with bad dialogue. Nicolas Cage is terrible as Eddie, he is nearly inaudible! James Coburn is great, and has a genuine chemistry with Michael Biehn. The ever-reliable Charlie Sheen is once again reunited with Biehn, the pair had built up a good rapport filming Navy Seals. But the film is just really bad, and I was so disappointed. Sarah Trigger (who?) is ok, but nothing special. The action lets it down, as it's too cheap. The music is terrible, really tacky. This is an ever-popular concept, which games like Grand Theft Auto have excelled in, but this film just wasn't good. The money must have been spent on the cast. This was the first 'deadfall' in Biehn's career, luckily he was still cast in Tombstone later that year. You can't blame him for this movie, "Hey Mike, we're going to put you in the starring role of a movie by Coppola, with Nicolas Cage, Talia Shire, James Coburn, Charlie Sheen, oh and Peter Fonda as your support cast." You'd be silly to have turned it down. Disappointing.

Clockstoppers (2002)

Its an enjoyable film, so why are people so hard on it?
17 October 2002
This film is extremely well made, the special effects are awesome, the acting is great, with the main cast all providing entertaining portrayals of their respective roles, but special mention to Michael Biehn who I thought was excellent in the film. Great to see him on the big screen, haven't seen him since The Art of War in 2001. Hope Adventure Inc brings him more success. This film is great escapism, people criticise it for being done before, but c'mon, hasn't everything? It's aimed at a younger audience, and if you're an adult in your 40's or woteva, this probably won't be your kinda film, does that mean its all that bad? If you watched Sooty when you were little, you'd think it was the best thing since sliced bread. If you watched it now, not going to like it as much, cos it would seem childish, but there are people out there who love it! This film was well made, well acted, the direction was very good, and I rate Jonathan Frakes very highly as a director! I really enjoyed the film, was skeptical as I was worried it was going to be bad, and I took 12 other 17 year olds to the cinema with me, so they were all going to blame me if it was bad. But they all enjoyed it, and I'm very pleased to say I've seen it on the big screen! 7/10 easy

William Hartnell was one of the greatest English actors Ever!
2 July 2002
Although this movie is rather old, what makes it still watchable is the endearing performance by William Hartnell, perhaps best known for his roles in Doctor Who and Carry On Sergeant. Hartnell was a true gem in British Film and Television history. Some say he was hard to work with, but many say he was a true professional and loved his work. I would personally agree with the latter, as that interpretation shines through his work in this film!

A really enjoyable documentary
25 May 2002
This was a really fun documentary, one that everyone was talking about the next day. It had great interviews with movie stars, including Michael Biehn and Jenette Goldstein talking about "Aliens" and the strong female characters of Ripley and Vasquez. Biehn also talked about "The Terminator" and Schwarzenegger's role and the impact of the film. There was then a part on the rivalry between Schwarzenegger and Stallone and their films in the era. The documentary ends nicely with Stallone and Arnie opening Planet Hollywood and sharing a dance. A really enjoyable documentary! 9/10

Best Command and Conquer game, starring Michael Biehn
21 March 2002
The game is enjoyable, although it gets quite hard. The special effects are good, and the plot is great. The character of McNeil is super, and excellently portrayed by Michael Biehn. James Earl Jones is also good as General Solomon, although some of the supporting acting is bad. But it is a computer game after all, but the bonus of having my favourite actor in the movie scenes is a special treat.

THE worst movie i have EVER seen
20 February 2002
What kind of absolute garbage was this? It wasn't funny, it wasn't scary, it wasn't good! Someone brought this in on the last day of term in school at christmas insisting we watch it. That was the last time anyone trusted his taste in films again! It was simply awful! I could make something funnier and more enjoyable!! 0 out of 1000, simply awful!

AWFUL
4 February 2002
I hated this film, it was boring, Osmond is not a likeable character or actor, i find him very annoying. My girlfriend loves the film, but i can't see it myself! Turned it off in fury! Do not watch this movie if you are expecting a good one! Chuck Norris is more entertaining! Hail Chuck!

Alien Evolution (2001 TV Movie)

An excellent documentary
31 October 2001
This was great to watch, and as a fan of both the ALIEN saga and Michael Biehn, I enjoyed it a lot. The interviews with cast members like Harry Dean Stanton, Tom Skerritt, Jenette Goldstein and Michael Biehn were particularly enjoyable. I have to admit, it started off boring with "Alien" as the recollections of the ageing producers were not very exciting, but as the show moved on, it became very enjoyable. A rare treat to see Michael Biehn on an interview, especially on british TV, it's about time my idol got the status he deserved!

Sooty & Co. (1993–1998)
Amazing show!
31 October 2001
I can say with great admiration that Sooty & Co was one of the greatest kids shows ever! It had everything that the original series had, and much more! The camper-van was a great addition to the series, and the show ran for an enjoyable 6 years. It was a shame to see dear Matthew Corbett retire as, for me, he was the 'grown-up' of kids TV, and was the star of the show! I needed to make sure his hard work was recognised.

The Tomorrow People (1992–2023)
Kid's TV nowadays can't compare to what it was in the early 90's
14 October 2001
This was an excellent series, I was only 7 at the time it was on, but boy was it enjoyable, and I still have images embedded in my head of this series. People being infected and having to hide their green eyes with shades or contacts, Mosquito's escaping and causing havoc, and action every episode! It was a good show, because it had a plot to it, an exciting one, and kids TV nowadays can't compare to the early 90's! This was a super show!

A good thriller
11 August 2001
This film was enjoyable, with one of the best car chases ever to capture a camera lens. The plot was clever, and great acting, in particular from David Caruso and my personal favorite, Michael Biehn! Film has a range of qualities to make it an enjoyable film! If you havent seen it, then go find it!

Tombstone (1993)

Best Western I've ever seen without a doubt
11 August 2001
I've never been a huge fan of Westerns, but this films is absolutely fantastic! The actors are tremendous, Val Kilmer is fantastic as Holliday and this is certainly his best role! Michael Biehn is super as Johnny Ringo and I enjoyed all of his scenes. His expressive eyes say so much, even when he isn't saying anything, you know what Ringo is thinking, and Biehn does super in this role and is my favorite character! Kurt Russell is also very cool in this film and pretty tough! And of course, who can forget Bill Paxton, his fifth and final film alongside Michael Biehn to date, after first appearing together in The Lords of Discipline 10 years previously. This is however the first time Paxton is credited above Biehn! Paxton is great as ever! I really do enjoy this film, the good score from Bruce Broughton is one I long to own on CD!

Deadly Intentions... Again? (1991 TV Movie)
A poor sequel
5 August 2001
This film lacks the intensity of the first film, and Harry Hamlin is certainly no match for Michael Biehn. However, by this time, Biehn had found bigger fame after The Abyss, Aliens, Navy Seals and was at this time working on K2. 1991 seemed to be a year where Michael Biehn and sequels didn't work. His scene in Terminator 2 was deleted. He turned down Alien 3 and, as we see, he didn't appear in this film. As yet, Biehn has yet to star in a sequel. This film just didn't work, with the absence of Biehn and decent plot, it didn't reach its audience and didn't make the impact of the first film!

Do you know who the enemy is?
7 July 2001
This film is a good action film, with some excellent fight scenes, gun battles and car chases. Although the plot is not a complicated one, and the ending one that could be expected, the film certainly builds up to an excellent end. Wesley Snipes is on top form, but the main reason I watched this movie was that Michael Biehn was in it, and he is supreme in this role! With Anne Archer and Donald Sutherland included to spice up the cast even more, the film was very enjoyable!

Alien 3 (1992)
The Bitch is back, but Hicks isn't
7 July 2001
This film is certainly the worst of the saga, but it is not a bad film, and I believe it is harshly treated. I watched this movie a day after seeing ALIENS, and after the pleasing ending to ALIENS, was immediately depressed when I expected Michael Biehn's name to appear on screen and didn't. Even more so, when Hicks, along with Newt, are killed off within the first few minutes of the film. The absence of weapons should add to the suspense of the film, after all, the weapons in the 1st film are rarely handled, and still it was a success. The fact that we don't have Vasquez and Drake blasting the walls down, does not mean the film can't be enjoyable.

Some excellent performances from the cast, British actors Brian Glover, Charles Dance, Ralph Brown and the unlucky Paul McGann, his character suffered huge editing and we fail to see what happens to his character in the film. Charles S Dutton gives us the American touch and is VERY good in his role. And of course, the superb Lance Henriksen, makes a welcome appearance as Bishop, and the sight of him softened the blow of having my hero Michael Biehn on the top of K2 at the time of this movie. Henriksen is excellent in this role and to date is the only actor (other than Weaver) to appear in more than 1 Alien film. Don't judge Alien3 so hard, the more you watch it, the more it can be appreciated, and it is as much a part of the Saga as any other of the movies. It is a good film, despite the amazing competition in the Saga, this film is severely under-rated!

A High-Octane film, with stunning Gun blazing and Michael Biehn is on top form.
27 June 2001
This film was quite enjoyable, as a Michael Biehn fan, I appreciated this movie, he plays the character well and the cheeky comic element to his character makes him so enjoyable to watch. With some excellent action, a nice soundtrack, great humour, and some nice supporting acting from Matt Craven and Kim Coates. Leilani Sarelle Ferrer is super in this role and does more shooting than Michael in fact, a sexy woman with guts! Although Ed Lauter's accent strains credibility, its nice to have him in the cast. A good film, which deserves more credit! 7/10

The Rock (1996)

This has to be one of the greatest action movies of all time
12 May 2001
This is an absolutely amazing movie, it is an action movie with a plot. Fantastic performances from Ed Harris and Sean Connery, who enthrall the audience in every scene, although Ed Harris is faultless, Connery had the bad luck of getting a few bad puns. Nicolas Cage is good in this role. And of Course Michael Biehn is brilliant in this role, probably the best film he's done to date. The ROCK is crammed with explosions, shootouts, a fantastic car chase too. The Music score to the film is absolutely fantastic, and really makes the film a great success. David Morse and William Forsythe also provide great performances. I can't find many worth while faults with this movie, simply fantastic!!!

"High" Excitement
12 May 2001
This film was one I've been longing to watch, mainly because it is a Michael Biehn movie. I know that some of his work has been less impressive, but no one acts in super films all the time. This film is no smash hit, but it was certainly not poor. There is a beautiful moment with Taylor and Harold on K2 that was a tear-jerker. Michael Biehn uses, as always, his fantastic talent which is sadly under-rated today. Some light humor through his character. I enjoyed the film though, it was a nice way to spend the evening.

My favourite movie of all time
12 May 2001
The Terminator is my favourite movie of all time, it has everything I look for in a film, action, love, an excellent music score, an excellent cast, including my favourite actor Michael Biehn. I love everything about this film, in it's day, nothing had ever been seen like it, and is still highly entertaining today. When thinking about the films relatively modest budget, what was achieved was amazing. Although the model of Schwarzenegger is not as impressive as the one used in the sequel, it can be tolerated and is an extremely small flaw in a fantastic film. The car chases, gun-battles and explosions are nicely interluded by an intriguing plot and a love story. The Terminator is so much more than just an action films, it explores many issues and successfully brings them all to our screens.

The best character is Kyle Reese, portrayed by Michael Biehn, in the role that launched his career. Reese is the best hero character of any, and Biehn is highly entertaining in every scene he appears in. It is isn't every day that a viewer will have a film character to be his idol, but Reese is simply cool and the kind of guy every teenager wishes they could grow up to be. The humor in the film comes from the police characters of Traxler and Vukovich, portrayed admirably by Paul Winfield and Lance Henriksen. They are a perfect combination in the film and every scene they appear in is enjoyable. They're deleted scenes on the new DVD are a must. Henriksen was a Cameron regular, appearing in Piranha II, and later in ALIENS, along with Michael Biehn as well. The brilliant Bill Paxton also makes a cameo here and he would go on to be Cameron's most used actor to date. The Terminator has it all and is, in my opinion, one of the greatest movies ever made.

It had a good start, but ultimately a waste
26 April 2001
The film had a brilliant start, Michael Biehn getting the film started, although I was disappointed at the fact that it was a mere cameo when he makes no further appearance. Paul Winfield is also wasted, but plays his role brilliantly. As for the rest of the cast, William Peterson was particularly good. The cast was fine, but the film as a whole could've been better.

Weird, Sexy, Creepy & Michael Biehn, love it!
21 April 2001
This film was more enjoyable than I expected. I didn't know who the killer was for a while, so I enjoyed it more. The more you thought you'd cracked it, the least you actually had. The humor element is great and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Michael Biehn is, as usual, on top form, with some very nice looking girls. It was weird, sexy, a real smash!

Michael Biehn is amazing
21 April 2001
The film was better than I expected, I didn't think I'd enjoy it that much. I only bought it because I knew Michael Biehn was in it, but I really enjoyed the film. The highlight being when Biehn has had the morphine, he is a joy to watch in that car chase. Charlie Sheen's character was annoying and Bill Paxton was wasted. A good blast!
