The Last Thing He Told Me (2023)
Suspenseful but bad acting by Garner
I think it has a great story line, you want to keep watching to see what happens next. It's a little bit slow but getting better. The acting is good...except for Jennifer Garner...this is probably the worst I've seen her act and I like her other movies. But I don't think her character was cast correctly and I notice it in every episode. I don't mind the teenager...with what's she's dealing with, but Garner has no empathy, she's like a robot. It's pretty bad, she just not a good fit for her character. Good twists and turns in the episodes and they all end with a cliffhanger. Just got done with episode 6, it was good and excited to see what happens in 7.
Shrinking (2023)
What's with all the F word? Yuck...
It's so annoying. It's like the writers couldn't figure out what to say so they inserted the F word in every single sentence spoken by every single character except for Harrison Ford. It's really really bad. If you took it out...the episodes would last 15 minutes. I personally don't know anyone who talks like that...and certainly not professionals or in a health care setting. It's trashy as much as it's spoken. It's gotten to the point where I don't care if I watch it because I'm going to have to listen to the F word 5000 times in 10 minutes. Is that dialogue? Meh...it's just okay. I would like it better if they spoke normal. Better things to watch.
Love Strikes Twice (2021)
Some things didn't get dated
The kitchens didn't look like that 15 years ago, definitely a modern 2022 kitchen...not something from 2008 or 2009 if you remember what was going on then not to mention decor. Plus I had to really listen because the actress Katie...spoke so fast I didn't catch about 1/3 of what she said. Short lines okay, but sentences were WAY too fast. Then the beach scene hits and another girl was talking so fast I had to rewind to see what she said. It's like high school speech class all over again! Slooowww dowwnn so we can hear what you're saying. But....it was a fun movie! I do like the time travel movies. I don't really think she passed for a 37 year old corporate lawyer though. I like the actress...fit better as a 22 year old. I think the title kind of gives the ending away.
Valley Girl (2020)
Loved It!
As an 80's girl...the music was awesome then and it still is now! Gotta find this soundtrack! Acting was good, loved seeing Alicia Silverstone! Great singing and dancing...so fun! I really liked it!
Step Into... The Movies (2022)
Loved it!!!
Loved the tap dancing! I wish they would have done more dancing from before the 70's...starting with 20's...both Derek and Julianne so talented! The 80's we're so fun and so much more could have been done for that era.
Pivoting (2022)
Pilot was just okay, but potential
I like Ginnifer Goodwin in other movies and was excited about this series, but she was talking so fast the first half of it I missed most of what she said. The acting was mediocre. Didn't care for so much emphasis on a poppy diaper or how the Mother went on and on about it, could have dealt with it in a more loving way. It's also not believable a Dr would go work in a grocery store. It was just okay, maybe second episode will be better.
And Just Like That...: Diwali (2022)
Boring
Can Carrie be anymore uptight? She needs toned down ad a personality. All the characters lost their personality except for Anthony, people don't lose their personalities. Carrie acts like she's 80...I don't know who Miranda is anymore, they try too hard to act. The previous episodes showed screwed up adults with screwed up kids. Cynthia Nixon is influencing the writers too much and bringing her own personal agendas to the show and it's just not recognizable as SATC. Where's Steve, where's Harry? At least they have a sense of humor. It's still awful writing and awful acting.
And Just Like That... (2021)
Episode 5 is absolute garbage
I'm the biggest fan of SATC..we watched the characters grow and mature appropriately, in a normal good way. Miranda's character is disgusting! Any morals, values and decency the characters had are gone. Fire the writers before it gets any worse. I also think Miranda has something to do with it being so raunchy..too much input from her. And Che...gross! I hated this episode. There's better shows to watch. One star...for Tony and our beloved Stanford.
