Silent Witness: Greater Love: Part 2 (2013)
And Niki woke up and it was all a dream..
Well I thought that was how it was going to end anyway. It would have allowed for the.:
flakey plot,
shoddy script writing full of holes,
a full auto SA80 that not only doesn't FTF but also prints " fired from a British weapon" on every round fired,
And finally a lead characters make-up based on Gary Johnston from Team America.
Finding Alice (2021)
A pile of tosh with a tosh sauce on the top.
SPOLIERS WARNING... It's spoiled already.
I thought this winters UK TV shows couldn't get any more padded out after watching the Serpant which was 4 episodes to long, when along comes finding Alice.
Now I like a good bit of black or even morbid comedy but this show just left me annoyed after each episode. I know its supposed to portray how Alice responds to the death of her partner but really, if this is what she was like underneath, I'm suprised he stayed so long before he croaked..
This could have been so much better. The cast on paper would say it was going to be a good one and the writers have done some good stuff, so I decided to finish watching the whole series to see if it got any better, giving it the benifit of the doubt considering CV19 editing etc. Well it didn't and even 'worserer' there's another series coming along at some time.
Space: Above and Beyond (1995)
Much under-rated Lockdown Delight
Having watched this series first time around in the UK the enforced early 2021 UK lockdown gave me the chance to watch it again 1x episode a day to ration it out.
Such an under-rated series that could have easily continued but I guess at the time of filming in the USofA, populist series like Treks TNG had to have characters like Troy and Gynan and this series deffo doesn't need a purple suited bimbo or bar-tender to calm the nerves of the crew a.k.a the US population at the time.
I'd say Space Above And Beyond was more like Tour Of Duty or the later Band of Brothers than any other "Sci-Fi" series of the time...apart from H2G2 of course but then I am English and enjoy warm beer, peanuts and Vogon poetry.
Star Trek Into Darkness (2013)
What, no giant earwigs.?
A superb take on TOS episode and the second original Trek film.
The 'needs of the many' are deffo taken care off in this alternative timeline version so enjoy the film for what it is and watch out, and recall, with a smile for the homages and twists from a previous time line.
Star Trek (2009)
It works
I grew up with Kirk Bones Spock Scotty and the expendible crew in red shirts..
I've sat in an engineering meeting picked up a mouse and said "hello computor" with a titter from some othe engineers from around the globe so I wasn't sure if I'd like the new take on Trek.
I do I love it. .... thrusters on full and enjoy
Redcon-1 (2018)
Watching paint dry
I wish I'd watched some paint dry rather than bothe with this 2nd rate.. no that's unfair 4th rate film.
Yes its got zombies and guns and a touch of humour but IMHO even the worst episode of Blake-7 is a better watch than this.... and that was pretty dire.
Greyhound (2020)
A 6x. The Brits had been done this since 1939
Almost a doc-u-drama but not.. as it looked to computor generated for me.. Imagine World of Warships Convoy.. the movie.
Enjoy it for what it was, a Tom Hank does WW2 and he does it well but you-tube is full of real footage and thats how it was..
