Origin of Government Power
23 October 2008
Our villain's quote on the origin of government's power is a quote from a thesis I wrote in 1992 for a political science course. I recognized it immediately and I couldn't wait to call people I knew to let them know that an idea I put in a 15 page paper on a first draft during a midnight shift hit the big time. I don't mind that someone adapted it for this show. It was very appropriate and its kind of flattering that something I wrote so long ago has been passed along and survived this long to make it into a television show. The show, however, was weak in that they introduced a character that was of very high value and weren't able to fully develop it in the time allowed. Kind of disappointing from a mindless entertainment standpoint.

Not Quite As Good As the Critics Say
2 August 2007
I found this to be a decent movie but not worth the money it cost to see it. Let's face it... watching a young girl grieve a lost parent is a downer and this movie focused too much on that angle. I thought there was a great deal more potential in watching the truly interesting interaction between the chefs. That was the true draw of the movie. The rest caused me to notice the tiles on the walls and ceiling of the theater. The whole idea of the movie had a great deal of potential and I hope that at some point, someone will remake this movie focusing on one aspect instead of two. That is the real problem with this movie, it has two focal points.. the loss of a parent and the comedic interaction of two really good actors. This is not like a Reece's Peanut Butter Cup, two great stories that don't go well together.
